Hodkinson was useless. Hopoate was ok, very safe and did exactly what he needed to do. Jackson did a job, as did Cordner and Merrin. It was!'t the forwards that lost the game, it was a lack of control and direction.

Origin football really is a lot of fluff isn't it? I mean honestly, the quality is rubbish and the teams play the most pedestrian brand of shite.

The quality in that QLD backline should be scoring 5-6 tries every game, without fail. Yet year after year they do just enough to beat a supremely inferior NSW spine by a couple points.

If we keep letting dumbasses like Meninga, Daley, and Sheens tactically run our rep sides into the ground NZ are going to dominate us for years to come

It's mostly hype now. Last years games weren't much quality either. The quality of Origin in the 90s and early 00s was miles ahead of where it is now. I love when they show them on Fox. It has become a grindathon.

Big part of the grind approach is forwards not offloading. No second phase play. Can only think of one offload and that led to one of the only exciting attack plays in the game.

If Hodkinson had put himself in a position to receive the ball and didn't get it I'd hang it on Farah but Hodkinson was so scared of f**king up he didn't even bother. The first one, Pearce attracted the inside chasers to the right, spun it back into the middle for Hodkinson, right foot or not he had very little pressure on him, even if he didn't want to take the shot he should've been the one putting boot to ball instead of throwing a cut out ball to Jennings who had a wall of defenders in front of him.
The second time, if he was behind the ruck on Farah's right hand side (the correct side for a right foot kicker) and Farah ignored him I'd hang it on Farah, but you watch the replay, Hodkinson was on Farah's left, the wrong side for him to take a shot and he wasn't back, he was in the line, was never in a position to take the shot

- Farah's second half was good when he just kept the forwards moving or pinched 10-15 metres himself, most other plays were poor
- Woods and Tamou easily our best, Hoffman, Klemmer, Dugan were good, Josh Morris did his job well.
- Tupou Jennings and Hoppa, who've all been in poor form, were all (shock horror) pretty poor.
- Qld's siezed the momentum and didnt let go early on. Too good in the end from them.
- But they also got away with standing offside much of that second half.
- Hodges is still a merkin.

Was a pretty dull origin game, second half was especially average, coaches are so scared to trust their players to actually use the football that all we end up watching for 98% of the game is dummy half running and one out hit ups.

Jennings is 10x the player Walker is and Johnston was worse in the Test then Tupou was tonight. Reynolds should be there in place of Hodkinson, he and Pearce would work well together.
They'll still lose anyway because NSW are shit though.
