Sutton got the ruling on where the penalty was awarded but it should never have come to that.

Let's just add a "no charge down attempts of field goals or kicks on general play" rule to the one punch and shoulder charge rule if that is going to be the standard. I despise Canterbury but no team deserves that. Graham had no intention of hurting him. Attempting a charge down and looking away to protect his head from either the follow through from Reynolds boot or the ball itself.

Reportable is defined as something that needs to be reviewed by the judiciary for further sanctioning.

In Graham's case even if you believed the accidental contact should've been penalised there's no way he's going to get charged over it. Although I wouldn't put it past the NRL now to come out defensively and hit him with a suspension.

So everyone saying it was technically a penalty, technically the video ref doesn't have the authority to rule on it since it wasn't a reportable incident.

On field ref missed it, then bad luck

And I don't care how upset you are by a ref's performance you do not resort to the antics that these Dogs fans got up to. Tarring all their fans with the same brush. I hope they find the perps and ban them for life!

Yeah kickers having their legs broken was a massive issue before Wayne had his whinge and got the rules changed.

It was Steve Price who started this intentional diving at the leg stuff, and Isaac Luke took it the next step wit the late cannon-ball

Alex McKinnon missed half of the 2013 NRL Season because of it.

If I was a Dogs fan I'd be more worried about Brett Morris. Did he snap his hammy?

They might be without both Morris boys after the kick to the face. Might turn out to be a good thing for the Dogs and BMoz was looking a good chance of getting origin fullback

Exactly (I won money on the result but it was a JOKE for the Game), where is the common sense!!!

Reports of several assault post match

Some Dogs fans were wondering why the crowd vs WT was low last week and I reminded them of our previous bad experiences with the garage element of their fan base

It's ridiculous that if you make accidental contact with a player when trying to stop a kick it's a penalty...

Yeah. I can't see how reviewing an incident like that is anything other than within that ruling.

If the on Field ref thinks it "might be" reportable than surely that's enough.

The issue with that is then what "might be" reportable is very, very open to interpretation and it's whats lead to all the diving and play acting that goes on in our game now. The rule was brought it so Video Refs could rule on serious acts of foul play the the refs missed (generally off the ball stuff).

Either get rid of the rule and let them rule on it all or start applying it like it's meant to be applied. Last week we had a video ref say he couldn't rule on a high tackle because he didn't think it was a reportable offence but every week we see a handful of the softest tackles get put on report by different video refs. There's no consistency because most aren't even aware such a rule exists.

Personally I want less Video Ref involvement and I want players to get on with the game and cut out all the play acting that's crept in over the past few years.

Stupidity by the Dogs captain, it was 45 metres out, its going to take a special effort to land a field goal from there, sure put pressure on him but the dive at the legs wasn't needed at all, I doubt Reynolds could land it from there even 20% of the time.
