The Roosters fought hard against a better side but did get a couple of very important legups in the second half.

The Moylan no try and the 5th tackle penalty leading to the Roosters last try come to mind.

Panthers are pretty average IMO. Just scraped home against a bunch of kids. Can't see em making the 8

Congratulations. You've spent most of your life following this sport, and all you have to show for it is this insightful commentary.

Holding my breath for the next flow of effluent to spew from ones mouth.

Moylan forward pass no try 50 50 but you see them let go most of the time these days.

TheFrog probably has a picture of Wallace framed over his bed, so don't pay any attention to him.

I don't but it seems Hook does.

By the way, who would you have had in the 9 in the last 6 games and next week as well? You had Wallace on a slow boat to England IIRC.

And you wonder why we attract trolls. You make it too easy for them.

Segeyaro if he had been fit, of course. Is that a trick question? The benefit of him not being fit is that it has kept Wallace out of half where, surprise surprise, we haven't missed him for a second.

I'll chip in for those tickets, btw.

Soward and Moylan absolutely schooled the roosters in clock and field management in that final 12 mins. Strangled us out of the game with no hope of letting us back in.

Turning point for me was Jake Friend letting a quick play the ball roll through his legs with 14 to go then kicking it dead and gifting the panthers 7 tackles. We were winning the arm wrestle at that stage but with that error Penrith marched down field into our half and never let us back out.

I thought the forward call on Moylan's try was also pretty tough. Looked flat to me and would have sealed the game, although credit to the panthers they didn't let it affect them and just kept piling on the pressure

But Segeyaro has been injured. And most observers, not just me, think Wallace has been at least his equal.

And we'd miss his defence if he wasn't in the side.

Segeyaro will be playing NSW cup for his return and likely to do so until Wallace plays himself out of the position.

Why change the dynamic by adding a guy who wouldn't offer the same stability and consistency as Wallace?

I really hope that is how Griffin approaches it (it would be the most sensible option) but it is still any bodies guess at the moment as to what happens.

Not a great performance by any means from Penrith but the Roosters played their hearts out to be fair and we still managed to pretty much shut the game down in the last few minutes with the dropouts. We've played a lot better in losses against the Bulldogs and Cowboys but sometimes it's just important to get the win and move on.

Napa may have already been mouthing and it was called back to give you guys a march up field, we don't hear everything said on the field. I'm just trying to find a reason myself as I don't feel like trawling through footage to see if there was anyone in front of the tap, which would be the most likely culprit.

Moylan was grabbed by a player 9.7 metres offside when he tried a quick tap, then the ref gave another penalty 10 metres downfield. I don't know who the player was but it looked binnable to me.
