Newcastle need a cleanout like Penrith and Gold Coast, get rid of all the ol boys on high wages doing nothing, replace them with up and comers on half the wage (from places like the u20's, both state leagues, etc). Whether there's going to be too much resistance from the old boys club is another matter...

Um this is already in the process of happening, hence debuting 8 players already this year and the fact that 16 of the Knights top 32 had not played one FG game to start the season. They're right in the middle of a clean out.

Seriously I have to wonder whether people check any facts whatsoever before posting around here.

No for you see I was born with no eyes, or arms or legs, therefore it is impossible for me to know what Newcastle are doing. All I know is what my guide dog beatrice has told me. She is also posting on behalf of me so be good to her please, otherwise she will not bring me my dinner.

Not sure why Broncos fans think repeating the scoreline is going to upset us lol. Those type of score lines are common against Newcastle - in games where we didn't lose the entire bench either. You did to us what the high flying Souths and the Warriors did. Congratulations. This is not the first time we've realised we're shit.

lol

Maybe others, but I'm certainly not apologising for supporting the Broncos, and everything that comes with it.

Your snarky comment above shows your current emotions.

Was going to say - you guys have become very bitter about Brisbane's advantages being pointed out.

They've been pointed out, responded to and pointed out again. By many people. Move on instead of sooking. Repeating the same things over again doesn't make it true.

I'm going to guess those previous smashing didn't involve this much random complaining about the advantages of the club that won.

I do wonder if too much is being made of the scoreline out of this game. The fact is (as noname said) the knights are going through a rebuilding phase. They were already without three of their most experienced forwards and then they lost three more players during the game due to concussion, including their most experienced half. That is almost half of their team out.

Add to that we played reasonably well and for 80 for once and the result is no surprise.

I tend to agree. The knights weren't in a good position with injuries before the game, and this was compounded with the loss of three players on the field. In saying that, some of our fans here are kidding themselves if they don't see the advantages we have as a club and seriously need to stop trying to play victem. Yes some of the Knights issues are associated with poor management, but they do have a much smaller market in terms of attracting corporate sponsers/TPA's/players. This alone puts them at a rather substantial disadvantage before a game is even played.

Has anyone here said we don't have advantages?

I've already said a few pages back that I think too much of an overreaction has been made after this particular game that was always going to go the way it did.

Saying that though the argument of Brisbane's advantages could come at any time really and still have validity. Misplaced timing maybe but the point remains.

If I were a Cowboys fan, I'd be hoping that NQ win as many more Premierships as they can while JT is there. Because once he's gone, I fear they'll go the same way as the Knights post-Joey and (in the eyes of the NRL and Ch9 at least) the Broncos will once again become the only team in Qld they give a shit about. This talk of the Broncos being over the cap is rubbish, too. Players just really, really, really want to play for Uncle Wayne and they will happily forsake 300k from other clubs just for the privilege. The new house, flash new car, speedboat, paid advertising gigs, heavy brown paper bags and guaranteed 7-day game turnarounds they get for the privilege is just a coincidence...
A lot of people think this but I disagree.
The other thing is, we did actually make the finals before Thurston came along, in 2004, we will struggle but I don't see the Cows ending up struggling so much, maybe miss the 8 but they will bounce back.

Newcastle like I've said in another thread, had a whole lot of things going on...wrong decisions on and off the field, the whole Tinkler debacle.
Most clubs would struggle.
