lmao you sound like gina reinhart.

You guys worked really hard to be the only rugby league side in brisbane. Actually you really did work hard on that to be fair because you guys killed the crushers.

Please...

Brisbane didn't kill the crushers any more than Canberra killed the Rams.

The crushers killed the crushers because they made dumb decision after another. Mario Fenech and Garrick Morgan anyone?

I was being a little tongue in cheek because big pete was posting rubbish.

I would love to be as structured as the broncos. That costs nothing (well whatever a good defensive coach costs). I would love to be as motivated (again costs nothing out the salary cap)

But its hilarious to see the apologists here. The broncos beat on a side they are worth more than a million dollars than. Thats not good footy. It was entertaining footy I guess if you like watching Milford and Hunt run riot but its not good footy.

Now, maybe I am just being a chicken little and things wont get that bad and the knights are especially bad this year because they have been badly run but lets see. I dont see where the knights get out of this.

Correct. The best & most successful club in the modern era.

The last time you guys won anything the Knights finished in the top 4 for the regular season.

Let that sink in for a moment...

The club is run well but Jesus you guys run away with the arrogance.

Well as has been posted already the Broncos have thrashed the knights worse than this.

The Broncos have copped hidings too over recent years, although not that many. The Bunnies walked all over the Broncos on a number of occasions. Most people had the Broncos pegged as missing the 8 last year. Nek Minnit they are cheating the cap and back to being a Murdoch powerhouse.

The problem is the Knights are a basket case. This is compounded I'd imagine by the economic problems in the area itself.

Forget the Knights, they are the outlier. If you look at the norm, the real question is do you see the Broncos thrashing teams all the time? I don't think we do. The reason this match is a talking point is because it barely happens.

Having said that TPA are an imbalance. But it all stems from the same problem, which is Sydney. The NRL don't seem to have the stomach for rationalisation, so they seem to be waiting for teams to die on their own, or merge.

The Knights are as I said a problem onto themselves though. They have been for ages and have no one to blame but themselves.

I dont think the broncos are cheating the cap ...

They don't need to. They get all the advantages the Storm got in 2006-09 without having to keep two sets of books and without having to worry about getting caught. All officially sanctioned by the NRL.

And if any other NRL team wanted to copy the Broncos' off-field management that is giving them this advantage, they could do so.

Many of them even have several decades on the Broncos and could draw on richer investors. Sydney alone has about as many people as the entirety of Queensland.

It's not the Broncos' fault that they were able to make the most of third-party agreements. Other teams could be doing that too.

If your club can't get that organised, it's on them, not the Broncos.

Honestly as a Knights fan I think too much of an overreaction has been had after this particular game. Yes it was absolutely clear before kickoff that the Broncos were fielding a side worth a lot more than Newcastle's, however you won't go into the a game day thread involving the Knights this year where opposition fans of any other team won't be saying things like "if we're serious we should flog the Knights because their roster is so poor, blah blah blah". Yes the Knights side is so poor because we're literally right at the bottom of the TPA pile given our market however the squad is also poor because Brown and Potter are in the process of trying to clean the roster out and rebuild after the Tinkler/Bennett mess.

Obviously they were outclassed before even hitting the field on Saturday night but the scoreline wouldn't have ended up half as bad had they not been hit by a freak injury toll early in the game. Obviously they still would have been beaten comfortably and simply outclassed but not to that scoreline - and the scoreline seems to be what is creating all the hysteria after this one particular game. For all the posts that the Knights are in unrecoverable shit, the club is gonna die or whatever most other clubs would have been smashed in that position.

Does it shit me that the current rules allow for the eyes to get picked out of my club but we can't do the same to others because we don't have those market advantages? Absolutely, but no more so after Saturday.

Saying all that though this is a typical Bronco's supporter post with zero awareness of what some other clubs have to contend with - issues that Brisbane would never, ever need to. Yes the Knights have obviously made some terrible management decisions in their time but even if they had the best management in the league they'd still struggle under the current rules in their market and that's what people are trying to say (although I think compounded by Saturday's scoreline).

This is not a shot at the knights, but f**k knows how a small market team like NQ can field (relatively speaking) a fairly big name squad of boys when the core home city is half the size of newy? A few of our boys are home grown so would stay around for unders, but it intrigues me. The lure of JT? Coaching staff? Weather/lifestyle/cost of living?

I don't know the ins and outs of the knights jnr programs, but is the fault in the kids that they're identifying/not identifying? I have noticed the last 6 odd years quite a decent influx of polynesian kids in the knights first grade squad. Sure these guys in the jnrs can be guns due to their size compared to the other kids, but once the other kids 'grow up' the polynesian lads have to work just as hard in the training environment to keep their skills up, they simply can't rely on the natural size advantage they had as kids. Without the big TPA deals available in the area, it seems they are gonna need to build a good squad through development of their kids.

I've said this before but I think you guys are benefiting with JT the way we did with Joey. It's amazing what a player of that calibre can do for a small market side in terms of drawing sponsors and TPAs and players. I remember we were able to sign players on absolutely nothing because they wanted the opportunity to play with Johns and therefore be a chance at a premiership.

Brisbane can't support another team because Lang Park can't host multiple finals?

Holy f**k, I have read it all.

Just becuaee I don't care doesn't mean I don't have awareness.

How much awareness would you say you have of the consequence of addressing the TPA imbalance? Have you thought of the impact that would have on the code itself in regards to its advertising space against other codes?

Here's what the knights got out of it......
A football lesson.
There are plenty of businesses in the area making plenty of money.
Go a talk to them.
This victim mentality won't solve shit.
Maybe we should let souffs win next round because that's the right thing to do.
Im enjoying this season it's great to be at the top of the table again.
But if,all this shit were true that some of the butthurt brigade are posting we would have won the premiership since 2006 ffs.

Right so the knights signed players because they wanted to play with johns.
You do know that it has been possible for the Broncos to do this due to the presence of Langer, Lockyer, Bennett,k and webke the list goes on and on.
Stop contradicting yourself ffs.
