Norths Collective own Seagulls Leagues. Seagulls Leagues bank roll Tweed Seagulls as a principal partner. I wouldn’t say Bears own Seagulls though - more a case of they are under the same umbrella of a larger over arching corporation.

But good look up. As I said the other day Panthers Group is set up very similarly to Norths Collective. Panthers Group is much more grander and makes way more revenue though. It would surprise some how many people have interacted and helped eachother between the 2 organisations.
Isnt Norths Collective just North Sydney LC under a fancy name? Thats what it says on their annual report lol

Stop being a damn sook, Perth are getting a team. One minute you are saying nobody will care if it’s Bears or Pirates now you are crying the media is all about the Bears return and not about W.A. getting a team.
Please get a grip.

It is what he does.

He will use any excuse to not attend a single game, because they don't wear singlets like they do in his favourite sport.

Canberra would love the Sydney media caring about them like the Perth team is getting

The financial support of Bears being involved, if in fact there is any on offer, may not be needed at all. In fact I hope it isnt. A Perth club should be financially viable on its own feet. That would be a part of the looking at the Perths bid financial backing, $30mill guarantee and business case for revenue generation.

So Bears offer:

Pathways, which could be offered by a number of other second tier club partnerships
Financial input, which my or not be on offer or needed
Possible corporate support from sponsors in Sydney, which they cant show as guaranteed
East coast fans, which no one can really say how many active ones there'd be
More interest from Sydney, which is impossible to prove or quantify

oh and 116 years heritage. Which is worth what exactly?

There a lot of unknowns in what the Bears are offering.

Id hope the NRL will look at the Perth bid in their own right then determine if its viable without the Bears or not. if it isnt then fine, foster the Bears on to us.

Does it change anything?

Do the assets, investments and business portfolios magically disappear? No, they don’t.

I’m happy to call them Norths Collective - Norths Group or North Sydney Leagues Club or Santa’s workshop - whatever you want.

What a stupid thing for you to pick out 😂

not at all. Im very open to either a partnership, under right conditions, or a stand alone Perth led club. Whichever leads to best outcome for Perth and the game in WA. I have no interest at all in what's best for the Bears.

The push back is because of the reservations I have about the Bears motives, intentions and demands. Plus the perception of the Perth public about a relocated Sydney club. I can see the pluses in a partnership.

I have reservations about the stand alone bid as well, namely financial clout and east coast pathway partnership not yet lined up.

Theres plenty of RL fans in Perth with a much stronger feeling about a perception the Bears are being dumped on WA than I have lol
Seriously how many times have we discussed the non negotiables and you still bring up the very first reference of them from years ago, please build a bridge and get over it. No East Coast pathway has been lined up yet because nothing has yet been confirmed, this is all just conjecture, let June come around and then see what happens, until then get out in that Perth community, watch some local games, learn about your local talent and how many fifo players come and go from your local five team competition.

WC Pirates timeline if Perth goes it alone:

SG ball back up and running in '25
Flegg in '26
NSW cup in '28.

Not sure about HM and if it would be better to develop that age level locally rather than flying young kids around the country?

haha you'll find me at North Beach most home games. TBH I dont ask which players are FIFO as no one but you gives a sht about such things.

re the East coast pathway, it will be one of the things the NRL considers in the viability of the Perth bid. Having at least a strategy, and ideally a provisional agreement in place, would go a long way to placating that concern. If iw as in the bid Id be on the phone to Mounties. Cashed up LC who I'm sure would love to get back into a NRL pathway program.

Really looking forward to seeing how the Perth bid ramps up over next few weeks now they have Vlandys green light.
