Please Perth needs another plan with pathways, their S.G.Ball was woeful, guaranteed two points for every East Coast team. You need to mix these WA kids with the East Coast kids or they will learn nothing and play at the same standard without improving their skills. Thats why WA, VIC, SA and NT play their own State titles and not with the NSW or QLD States.
NSW field Public, Catholic and Independent teams and QLD field QLD Maroon and QLD White.

The Bears offering is not unique or even that financially different from what at least half a dozen other teams with Leagues clubs and junior pathways could offer.

Let’s call this what it is, a myopic attempt to appeal to some boomers in the media from an administration thats fixated on Sydney.
What other teams could offer ?, who ?, nearly every NSW Cup club has a NRL counterpart with the exception of Newtown Jets, Blacktown Workers or the Bears.
The QLD Cup is very different with many smaller clubs involved, as well as bigger clubs like the Redcliffe Dolphins, Wynnum Manly Seagulls, Brisbane Tigers and the Burleigh Bears.
Why would any of these clubs link with a WA team when they would have the same agreement with teams from a closer location lol.

That can be changed with investment. Mounties and Wenty were NSW cup teams when an NRL club funded them. Wyong roos...
That would be the carrot for them. Having an NRL direct pathway with Perth gives them an opportunity to get back into top tier NSW Jnr comps.

The entitlement complex and delusions of grandeur from the Perth mob is sickening.

Apparently rich historical clubs from the east coast need to give up their identity and aspirations to prop up an unwanted club in Perth that doesn't have the resources to compete with the big boys?

No. Just no.

Surely the idea of bringing in Perth is to create the pathways in Perth. Isnt that what the warriors and Storm are doing?
Yes but Rome wasn’t built in a day, slow and steady wins the race.
Do you want a competitive Perth team from day one or do you want a successful pathways first and foremost.
If you start off competitive you won’t have to offer talented kids top dollar to come across.
The pathways will look after themselves in the early years and you’d start to focus on them around year three or four.
The main thing is to be competitive in the NRL from the beginning.
That’s not buying the best players either, it’s buying the best competitors and the best fit for your organisation, the rest will slot together.

Hence why no one Perth is interested in a sydney club.
Who's this no one? Roger Cook seems on board so does a heap of his underling/workers, NRL seems to be on board, bears fans all over too, about a decade ago, you'd hear the opposite from most of them, saying that they shouldn't need to leave NS or CC, now they are ok, being so long without a hope of return, you guys seem triggered about the whole Sydney affiliation, you forget that they'll be a upto 12 regular home games coming to your west coast to watch regardless whether you support the bears or not, if you do though, and do it well a possible future could see another rival born of WA roots becoming a 2nd team, just like the eagles/freo in fumbleball, you're all too short sighted, the clamouring for a nz2 the past 6 months come out of the Warriors succesful turn out last season, and start of this season
