If Perth get the right setup sorted I've got no doubt they be more than competitive once the first crop go through the full system.

Our junior reps were already were competitive back in the 90s under the Reds.

Yeah they have EoC. They have a partnership with Roosters. So Roosters have assisted to get the set up properly.

They are getting better but their issues are how the guys not in the top 17 develop.

For example the elite kids on the East are in RL schools from 14 or 15, That is the part that needs to come over there.

The good things is the Govt is involved so hopefully a school program comes now, Not every kid also makes it for various reasons.

Say in June you guys get the green light and start said program next year.

Kids in year 7 in 2024. Are in year 12 in 2029. You are looking at another 2-3 years before those 17 years olds are regular FGer.

Given only 3 guys from the relevant age groups over here make it to NRL. You are probably looking at 5-6 of these cycles to get half the side being locals to come through the system.

Which is well past the 10 years mentioned

Whats needed is pathways set up in Perth and a feeder club in the NSW or QLD cup. Concentrate your resources into one system.
Wests tigers have 2 pathways and haven't really produced results.

BUT you just nailed why a side needs to get talent from different areas.

Tigers do have 2 but are both in Sydney so you aren't broadening the base.

How many quality players do the Storm produce?
Now how many come from Victoria?

That is the model for non RL areas. Well it is now Storm are running juniors in NSWRL comp to go with those in the QLD version

The expansion is about future growth of the sport. Not what we already have. No one will be stopping current NRL fans from being apart of it obviously but that isn’t the main goal. If that was the main goal, it would be foolish. Current NRL fans already have clubs and may support Perth as a second team like we see with the Storm in Victoria. But ultimately this expansion is about the future generations. Not the generation wasting their lives arguing on web based forums.

Storm have just now started to invest in pathways, that's why they hadn't produced players. Perth will have teams in Ball, Flegg etc from the start.
