I'm not really against any bid accept PNG .. I love the game and I'll support any venture but there's no way PNG works. For a comp as even as it is where anyone can win each week- such a great comp! Then we add PNG? they'll be flogged every week, it'll be no better than a bye.
It fails the sniff test on so many levels, so many! Literally the only reason it's considered is government money and even then, I don't want those slime balls involved in our game.

Perth and NZ 2 makes us the top football code in the region. The NRL should send someone to Adelaide and tell them they will be team 20 in 8 years time, get cracking

Many people in WA just want a NRL team, they are happy for it to be the Bears.
There is a recent Poll on the West Coast Pirates Facebook Page (2.3K members) that suggests as much.
Sure the page has been overtaken by the Bears fans, but that wasn’t hard was it Butt Wrinkles.

So option (2). obviously would’ve mostly been Bears fans, option (4). two Newtown fans, so that sounds just about right and option (1). and option (3). would’ve been Perth fans.

Those Bears fans mean something too! They will put bums on seat in away games! Maybe Perth don't care but that's great for Rugby league! 9 Sydney teams could put an extra 1000 people at the ground because of it and TV ! It'll pull an extra 50 to 100k viewers in Sydney.
It really can't be understated how cool it would be to wrap an expansion in with a reconciliation with the past.
The Perth Bears are a solid yes from me and I'm neither a Sydney sider or a Perth resident.
Perth doesn't have a rich Rugby league history but this..this includes them in that!

They will play in Sydney 4 or 5 times a year, having a few hundred extra away fans is hardly a big deal.

The modern day demographics of marrickville and Newtown are hardly conducive towards rugby league players

Adelaide have no interest in rugby league, it would be a total waste of time, they couldn’t even sell out last years State of Origin match held there.
I have a mate who is from Adelaide, he is a mad Port Adelaide fan, he went to the first Origin the othe week, he just says that the NRL should never, ever bother going to Adelaide.
