I know most on this forum don’t want to acknowledge its existence but the womens game is growing too. What’s happens when there is also 20 women’s teams having a full comp like the NRL?

We’re going to have 20 men’s teams, possibly 20 women’s teams plus SOO plus internationals plus finals.

I’m not saying we should or that it’s likely that the NRL could be shortened but I think the concerns about lack of content don’t quite hold up. As we continue to expand there is going to be an overwhelming amount of content that we need to consider how to fit in.
Exactly mate. I mentioned the women’s game earlier. It’s a huge part of our future and has to be properly included in future scheduling. Too many here are caught up in old structures and ways of thinking. Very frustrating. The clubs are not the game. If we can learn something from the fumblers it’s that the game comes first.

He just wants the Bears off the Central Coast

Otherwise Easts are hemmed in
Doubt it

nothing stopping Perth bears getting juniors from central coast as well as north Sydney since manly don’t do much and roosters only do lip service

the area is wide open

heck Perth bears could get someone like @Centy Coast involved to spot cc juniors for them

yes there is def some self interest in his enthusiasm for this lol Im sure they ae eyeing up NS eventually being in Perth lock stock and barrel and Roosters claiming whats left of that area.
Roosters are already in cc

bringing back bears means it less likely roosters can get at north shore

they have Origin to squeeze in too which the NFL doesn’t have to worry about ..

they aren’t going to have players backing up 48 hrs after Origins for club games indefinitely IMO … the games are more physical now then ever …they will need to play these on stand alone weekends …
Nrl stops for 4 weeks

origin is on consecutive weeks

plus filler like womens origins under 19 origin and Tonga v Samoa and nz v England and Fiji v png as suggested by @titoelcolombiano

Nrl sevens or nines comp for the other nrl players not involved in rep stuff

The Monday night Origin that was floated fixes that. Run NRLW on Thursday night. Gives players 5 day turnaround and limits the hit to TV ratings

The clubs still lose their players prior weekend …

Origin should be Stand Alone Sunday night game …play the Women's Origin on Friday night ( gets a bigger TV audience than a typical Friday game ) NZ v Tonga or Samoa on the Sat…

Its not perfect but neither is it currently…

23 games + 1 bye + 3 Orogin weeks - 27 weeks

you don’t necessarily have to play it over 3 consecutive weeks …I think this would take away some of the interest….you could play 1 game a month in May, June, July…

The media loves origin as much as the fans … it gives them so much content previewing each game , announcing selections , build up and review of each game .,.

How many games a year does baseball or basketball play in the us

premier league soccer including fa cup and European comps

tv companies want content

nfl is the dominant sport in a nation 15 times our pop

our major rival has a similar number of games

Focus would be on origin and other rep games

origin series would flow more continuously

depends, if it ends up like Swans then there would be no NS eventually. That leaves the north shore for roosters to take over, which lets be honest should have already happened.

Roosters should haves in on the North Shore years ago. Might have hurt at the time but would have resolved all this BS about the bears and we’d all have moved on.

Bears got booted 98? Manly and roosters done nothing for north shore

roosters link with central coast is a load of bs. Roosters aren’t a development club it’s not in their dna

and bears returning keeps north shore for them

uncle Nick isn’t doing this out of Machiavellian reasons

guys a billionaire
Roosters have 500 million in assets. They are planning a high rise tower in Bondi junction featuring retail commercial and apartments

this is for the good of rugby league !

Roosters junior clubs have less than 50 teams. That’s got to tell you something. Their teams in under 9s and above play in the Balmain comp. I know it’s a congested area but they should be able to do better than that.

again, the nswrl/NRL have been quite happy/negligent to let the Bears maintain the status qou on the north shore, leaving it void of NRL direct presence/attachment outside of Manlys little enclave. Talk to the Bears fans about why their jnr teams are so sht.

Its not a stretch to see that the Roosters will hope that the Bears moving to Perth will eventually lead to a south melbourne situation where they no longer have NS as 'home' and therefore can move in and take the region over.

Roosters region stretching from Bondi to Gosford is a game changer for them in fan catchment and player development. Roosters have nothing to lose and lots to potentially gain advocating for NS to move to Perth.

lol so naive, uncle nick hasnt become a billionaire by playing nice.

Bet you think covid was a government conspiracy huh ?

How is Nick polities wanting the bears to come in mean they lose their presence on the north shore ?

lol

your club has been kissed on the dck and you don’t even realise it

the Perth bears will sit on top of a north Sydney bears pyramid

and one that will be growing in size too

coupled with central coast juniors it’s a gold mine

Nick owned a ford dealership and then invested in property
