again, the nswrl/NRL have been quite happy/negligent to let the Bears maintain the status qou on the north shore, leaving it void of NRL direct presence/attachment outside of Manlys little enclave. Talk to the Bears fans about why their jnr teams are so sht.
Its not a stretch to see that the Roosters will hope that the Bears moving to Perth will eventually lead to a south melbourne situation where they no longer have NS as 'home' and therefore can move in and take the region over.
Roosters region stretching from Bondi to Gosford is a game changer for them in fan catchment and player development. Roosters have nothing to lose and lots to potentially gain advocating for NS to move to Perth.
lol so naive, uncle nick hasnt become a billionaire by playing nice.
The Roosters have had their claws on the Central Coast for over 10 years now and only produced Sandon Smith through their pathways, that is absolute rubbish.
Sandon Smiths Kincumber side, not a bad side, they won more junior GF’s than they lost, in the age group above them the Ourimbah Magpies won virtually every year from 10/1’s to 18/1’s (lost 12/1’s 6-4) yet haven’t developed one NRL player though they have one player with the Bears NSW Cup, another with QLD Cup side Burleigh Bears and another with QLD Cup side Wynnum-Manly, Bradman Best was in this age group playing for Woy Woy.
Canberra young gun Ethan Stranges Entrance Tigers team a few years younger had a similar record to Ourimbahs, they didn’t play as many GF’s due to structure changes to the Central Coast junior competition.
As WB said development is not in the Roosters dna, they could adopt a junior nursery like Penriths and they will still purchase 98% of their players.
Unfortunately it is just what the Roosters do.
