There's 3 bids in Christchurch, surely an alliance is on the cards. PVD is there today! He'll see a sold out test, the construction of a new stadium and a vibrant city full of enthusiasm for a team of their own, new fans! New market! And talent aplenty!
Get it done!
The fact he’s going there it’s to sort out nz2

Add this to list of stuff you have no idea about. That is only in NRL

From Cameron George, who would know of the costs

So $300k for Matts and SG Ball just to travel

Flegg is a longer season and contains a Fiji trip.

NRL also won't pay for the travel back and forth for the fringe guys to pay in NSW Cup or any other staff like development officers to do the same trip

That is before we get to the purchasing or leasing office space and other add ons
Wow so that’s the warriors spending over a million a season for their juniors to play in oz

That’s a disgrace the nrl doesn’t pay it

I‘m not so sure about that …

They are likely to be Team 20 ..if anything … and that team isnt due to be brought into the comp until 2030 or so … this could drag on a couple of years ..
Maybe

But Moffat did say he’s revising their bid now

Pvl didn’t travel to Fiji for any games

Just png and nz

He literally said in the article he wants to look at the bid close up (Christchurch)

and government support….
They don’t need it

Govt has already built them a brand new stadium

Plus Forsyth Barr in Dunedin as a secondary stadium

Don’t need money to invest in juniors either as the game has its own plus raiding union juniors will be easy for a Christchurch team

Even with 200 million spent on it hbf park will be nowhere near as good as the stadium in Christchurch

I’d counter that argument by pointing you in the direction of how the two remaining bid models are.

A nice new stadium is a great get but in saying that PNG don’t have one and they’re essentially in due to government support. These private ownership models just aren’t what PVL is look for it seems.

Every bid has different strengths and weaknesses

PNG obviously was no chance without govt money

In Perth the govt money is fixing up the weaknesses in the Perth bid ie poor stadium and hardly any juniors

What’s govt money needed for in nz2?

Sure some money on juniors would be nice but it won’t be an issue like in Perth

As long as the bid gets decent investors on board the govt has little need for contribution …. Maybe a coe but the wahs don’t have one so maybe not

Yes, they won't need any money to setup and operate the club, and develop juniors.

You're a f**king moron

Here’s the new stadium in Christchurch

The naming rights sponsor is the main sponsor for the warriors

The warriors have signed a 3 yr deal to take one home game to the city of Christchurch

NRL pays for the opposition but it is one of the issues with State Based lower grades. NSWRL competitions have no money for this.
QRL isn't much better yet both fight to have it under 1 organisation

The issue would be the multiple bids. You are already playing 2nd fiddle to RU, without having RL bids fighting amongst each other

So even more reason why it might take some time then…sorry I find It hard to tell with some of your posts whether you are agreeing with me or not ?

I have said this before in respect of Team 20 …if they are not coming in until 2030 as has been suggested many times in the media … then I don’t see much point announcing them in the near future ..and then creating a long gap until they start playing in the competition…..tough ask for the new fans to get excited with that long a wait ahead of them

PNG might have a three and a half year gap between announcement and playing their first game in 2028 .. but they have plenty of stuff to get done ..

It's insane that without Fed funding we have no viable expansion bids.
The other bids were all talk, imagine WA consortium had the WA government actually invested in them, not backing them with infrastructure only after/if they landed a licence
