If the club's licence was given to the Easts Tigers then it could work, but only if they rebrand to Brisbane Tigers. The club would need to be a Brisbane-based club with no ties to Sydney.

What do the Wests Tigers provide to the NRL?

They have no identity and are split between two warring factions. They choose to play out of suburban dumps like Leichhardt and Campbelltown. This hurts their bottom line because these venues cannot generate much revenue from corporate hospitality. There's no way this club will ever be able to compete with the big guns when they're using an outdated model that leaves them generating half as much as the Cowboys, Eels and Rabbitohs.
Exactly. The Tigers still feel fractured & disjointed, split between two, heck even 3 bases (Tigers, Wests Ashfield, Campbelltown) - and to a degree so do the Dragons.

You've got to think this is actually holding both of them back & knee-capping their chances of being a premiership force.

Ahh my bad

Literal club statements and press releases are fantasies and your devine genius is the real world

Or do you mean the bears are living in an unrealistic fantasy with their demands? Because that would be right
Do you really believe press releases ?, let’s just wait until actual negotiations start to take place, the Bears need WA, WA need the Bears.
Both clubs have been out of the NRL for over 25 years despite at times having the best bids out there during this period.

Don't delude yourself, WA doesn't need shit.

You're just choosing to ignore any piece of information that doesn't suit your agenda, and that isn't good for you or the Bears. It sets you up for disappointment, and the Bears would have a better chance of getting into the NRL if more Bears fans were willing to call out the BS.

Former Warriors coach Tony Kemp has doubled down on the idea of adding another New Zealand team to the NRL.

It is an idea that has been floated for many years but has come to the fore again in recent weeks as the NRL looks to add an 18th team to the competition.

The league has an uneven number in 2023 due to the addition of the Dolphins, who are scheduled for a ‘Battle of Brisbane’ clash with the Broncos on Friday night.

With the NRL looking to expand and the hype around the Dolphins-Broncos clash increasing as the match closes in, Kemp believes it is time to add a second Kiwi team to the competition.

“Talking a little bit more about this Dolphins-Broncos game, here is an example of why a second team in New Zealand would work,” Kemp told SENZ Breakfast.

“You’ve got Redcliffe basically, which is everyone saying, ‘Don’t call them the Dolphins, call them Redcliffe, and we’re up against the Broncos, the other team in town and we’re battling it out’.”

The Warriors have been involved in the competition since 1995 and while they have recorded mixed results throughout the period, many - including SEN’s Andrew Voss - believe it is time to repay the Warriors for their selflessness throughout COVID with a rival club.

Kemp has also been vocal on the addition of a second New Zealand team, saying it could entice a ‘State of Origin’ style clash and would be sure to attract record crowds.

“Could you imagine another New Zealand team coming up here to play or playing someone else in New Zealand, say at the new stadium down in Christchurch and you’ve got two New Zealand teams playing,” Kemp queried.

“It would be crazy. It sort of brings back that tribalism within your country, within your state.”

ARLC chief executive Peter V’landys has expressed an interest in forming three new teams within the next decade, stretching the competition to 20 teams.

Papua New Guinea is the likely recipient of the 18th team, while expansion in New Zealand and Perth is seemingly also on the cards.

I don't see any future for the Dragons or Tigers in their current form. Relocating them to Adelaide and Perth under ownership by South Australia and Western Australians would lead to more stability on and off the field.

I'd prefer to see the Wests Tigers' licence go go the Easts Tigers.

That wouldn't be a relocation.

It would be shutting down the merged entity and giving their licence to the Easts Tigers.

I see potential for the Easts Tigers to become bigger than Redcliffe. They plan on basing themselves out of Coorparoo. All of their games will be played at Lang Park.

The Easts Tigers' centralised location and affiliation with clubs and schools across eastern Brisbane, Logan, Gold Coast and central Queensland gives them a strong junior base and access to the business sector. They're also building a high performance training centre.

It's time the Wests Magpies and Balmain Tigers joined Newtown and North Sydney in the NSW Cup. I get that it will be sad for their fans, but the merged entity doesn't work.

Sure but the question you were asked was 'Could any of the existing Sydney NRL clubs relocate full time to Brisbane and be accepted as a Brisbane team?', and you haven't answered that question.

Instead you've presented an alternative that's even less likely to ever occur than a relocation, and there's next to no chance that a Sydney side will relocate any time soon.

Balmain Tigers and Western Suburbs Magpies weren't viable on their own. Getting rid of both clubs wouldn't really hurt the game.

The game would benefit from having the Easts Tigers take the Wests Tigers' licence. It would provide the NRL wirh 12 more games at the world class Lang Park. Derbies against Broncos, Dolphins and Cowboys would be huge. Revenue from football operations would be right up there with the Broncos and Cowboys.

The Wests Tigers will continue to play at dumps and generate little revenue from football operations. It makes no sense to keep the Easts Tigers out just so that a poor club like Wests Tigers can remain in the league.

Tonight showed us why I've been a strong advocate of adding BRL clubs to the NRL since I joined the forum in early 2020. Lang Park was sold out. The atmosphere was like an Origin game. A third team in Brisbane can be just as successful. It's just a pity we have so many Sydney teams with small fanbases hogging priceless licences.

The greatest sin the Murdoch empire, NSWRL and its braindead followers committed to our game is depriving Brisbane of a genuine rivalry since 1988. The Crushers were a hillbilly NSWRL concoction created by Arthurson and Quayle for nefarious purposes in their petty war against the Broncos.

The dumbest people on Earth are the administrators and fans of the NSWRL.

The first Brisbane derby (ignoring the Crushers) would have drawn a sell-out no matter which club got the second Brisbane license.

The crowd last night isn't sustainable either, not in the short-mid term at least. It was pumped up by the novelty effect and the event of the occasion. Give it a few years, and one or both of the sides struggling, and that attendance will start to drop. Don't get me wrong, the derbies will still be the biggest game of each club's season, but it won't sell out (more or less) forever.

It was also extremely convenient that both clubs went into the game unbeaten, but we won't get into that...

I also think that it's more likely than not that adding another club into the mix so soon would probably just water down the secret sauce.

I also found the whole build up and way the game was presented to be very astroturfed, and cringy at times as well. They (the NRL, Nine, Fox, other media) tried to make it out to be something that it's not, at least not yet, instead of just allowing it to grow into whatever it's going turn out to be organically.
