Because one off big events aren't predictors of how well local team will go. Hence force
But they are not one off events that only happen once or twice a decade. There have been at least one and sometimes two games a year in Perth since at least 2008.
Are u suggesting that the hundreds of thousands of people that have attended a game in Perth over the years were all unique people with not one return visitor?
Or what is it? If they hadn't sold out the one off events then that would indicate support is only there for a local team?

It’s the troll in him lol. Not regular events so dont count. No regular events so can’t prove support.

It’s like literally the only metric we have for fans who are willing to spend hard cash watching a game of rugby league. the corporate sell outs are the real Icing on the cake.

stop fcking about Vlandys and just get a club here already.

The latest news on newton is very positive for perth as club 18. The momentum is obviously growing and nsw and qlnd second tier clubs are looking at how they can get in on the perth action. No problem at all with jets being WC Pirates feeder club helping us develop nsw talent and keeping them local til ready for step up to nrl In Perth.

what can’t happen is the storm situation where the club thinks because it has feeders on east coast it doesnt have to develop local talent.

Not even a fun troll, a good troll attacks facts that would make someone insecure about their opinion.
As far as I can see there is only positives for a Perth team.
New timezone for broadcasters, increased national exposure (sponsors, tv rating totals), strong local support etc
Even the one alleged weakness, juniors, is a crock as well. With WA always being the 3rd rugby league state with a history back to the 40's whilst producing first grade players though the years with poor support from the national governing body.

The thing is - and I can't state this clearly enough -

PERTH ***SHOULDN'T** HAVE TO DO THIS

They shouldn't have to saddle-up with old NSW clubs to get on the radar.

The NRL leadership is so conservative & NSW-centric that the Perth bid have to do this.. or rather they *feel* they have to do this.

Why? Because the conservative & NSW-centric leadership has FAILED to do anything towards a Perth NRL team in 25 years but give lip-service to them, and the odd origin & club game - and even then, the club games are as much (more?) driven by the clubs than the NRL itself.

It isn't ideal, but if it goes through then it leaves the door open for the Bears to base themselves out of Adelaide. Hopefully this gives the Bears the reality check they need to realise they are not in a position to make demands.
