That’s because QLD Cup sides usually always get pumped when they play NSW Cup sides

Yes, the Bears have a long proud history of winning...

It's laughable to suggest that the most mediocre of NSW Cup sides would v provide anything of value to a Brisbane based team.

Have u ever done media studies?! No meat to that story

Actually I have. I’m guessing by your retort that you did as well.

Nevertheless, the argument you’re peddling is that there isn’t a bid (even though there are no bids anywhere) nor is there any interest. If that is your argument, you have to present evidence that a) there are bids somewhere else and b) that there isn’t any interest.

Crushers weren't properly vetted. Backing wasn't strong enough. Plan was to run on game day money. Sound familiar?!

Agreed. That might be because we expanded way too quickly.

The conclusion isn’t that we shouldn’t ever to go to these areas again (like Brisbane) but that we should do it better.

Also, I’m a little more confident that we have learnt our lessons. We are not expanding anywhere near that quickly and in fact the conditions and support provided to clubs nowadays as opposed to 1995 is the proverbial chalk and cheese

Do they split all their players around? How do they decide who and where?
Roosters are just going alone next year arnt they?
I’ve noticed both the Bears and the Roosters NSW Cup sides get roughly equal the NRL players handed down, I was talking to one of the Roosters NSW Cup boys today and he said it was the NRL players decision on who they want to play with. The Roosters NSW Cup side is very young and is full of a majority of players between 20-23yrs. Truth is not many NRL squad/contracted players really play NSW Cup that often these days unless they need the fitness.

The Bears are currently in 3rd position on the NSW Cup ladder, the Bears were leading the competition by four points before their current four game losing streak due to the Roosters needing players due to injuries in their NRL squad.
For your info, on NRL Grand Final day the NSW Cup Premiers play the QLD Cup Premiers in the NRL State Championship Challenge, the NSW Cup teams have a good 5-2 majority of wins over their QLD counterparts since the concept has been implemented.
That was what my previous comment was about.

Cowboys have shared players for years, if you were from Cairns, you played for the Pride and so on, but changed last year so the NRL contracted players all play for the Townsville Blackhawks now.

Expansion of rugby league in our competition only came about because of the Sydney clubs

it’s good to see even though it over 40 years since the nswrl started to expand that Sydney clubs are so important to the success of club in perth

Not one of you picked up on the fact that Ch 7 is the national AFL Channel!!

I agree they probably wouldn’t be. Nor would we have Manly or Cronulla or a few other Sydney sides based in small population areas; but it is what it is.

Nevertheless, the history of the competition and the sport shouldn’t entirely guide the future

My point is this isn't Soccer or some sport where more money is better.

The salary cap is the same etc, very hard to get ahead on money alone

What matters is community engagement, School programs etc

Exactly as I have been saying all along, more news will come in August when the NRL double header is played.
I told you these non negotiables would start to grey once the real talks heat up lol.
He basically doubled down saying they still had non negotiable in brand and wanting games at ns oval. Where do you get the grey bit from in that video?

Have to say the idea of a perth club taking on the Jets brand seems very meh. It’s not very exciting name, nothing much to do with perth and the nrl doesn’t need another club playing in blue and white. I’m still struggling to see what they are offering?
