Roosters have a massive asset base, a strong corporate support and decent crowds. With the NRL grant now they're are financially very secure and financial strife is the only way any club may move, but even then the NRl would bail them out first.

Why people keep talking about relocations or dropping clubs when it has zero chance of happening I dont know.
It would be easier to talk about relocating the lower clubs to places like Adelaide and Perth, like Norths or Jets

“if we’re going to be a national sport and want to grow our revenue, we have to grow our sport and be in every state.” -Politis
It says if we want to be a national sport we need to be in every state

it doesn’t say that’s the way to maximise revenue

In the current setup, the only way I can see a Central Coast NRL team happening any time soon is if the perfect storm hits the Roosters (bad form, dropping crowds, severely reduced revenue, Nick passing away etc etc), they get no bailout from the NRL, and decide to move there rather than sell-up to a new owner "as is, where is"

Extremely unlikely.

How does this help game?! Highly successful team moving from heart of economic center to the central coast?!

The club has around ten million cash at bank and owns all the land around its leagues club which will one day be a billion dollar development

if uncle Nick drops dead tomorrow he’s set them up forever

Perth is saying afl gets more tv money because it's "national." Knowing TV it's more likely due to demo's & timing of nrl's last deal.

Again you're comparing two very different levels of popularity of sports. the question you actually need to ask is would Aleague be less valuable with only 3 capital cities and would NRL be more valuable if it had all 5.
Politis clearly agrees with me that the answer is yes to the latter.

The reason NRL is more popular than the A league is the reason it gets more TV money. Clearly being "national" isn't the reason.

It’s obvious the way to maximise tv revenue is more brisbane teams and nz2

no broadcaster has shown any interest in Perth or Adelaide

'and want to grow our revenue'

'If we want to compete with the AFL, we have to be truly national and be representative in every state'

Growing revenue isn’t the same as maximising revenue

sure Perth will increase our revenue

Brisbane will add way way more and always will

quote uncle Nick all you want no broadcaster has expressed any desire for Perth or Adelaide but both have said they want another brisbane team

god your so hard work. Again does Aleague get less money if only in 3 capital cities?

90% of media advertising spend is in the 5 metro markets
65% of the countries population live in those 5 metro markets

youd have to be pretty stupid to think that having a reach into those 5 markets doesnt earn you more money. If the $570mill v $370mill tv deal doesnt tell you that I really cant help you.

Oh and the last tv deals were close in value

no nrl teams I

and yet the last tv deals were close in value and we didn’t have nrl teams in Adelaide or Perth them and they had two more teams
close is subjective. Have they beaten us on every tv deal in the last 20 years? Yep.
Is there tv and sponsorship revenue significantly more every year? Yep
Does having a 5 capital city reach help with that? According to Politis yes.

They had more teams than us for that whole time

and yet the last deal was close

Perth and Adelaide aren’t going to make a huge difference and that’s just a fact

Brisbane 3 would
Nz2 would

“If we want to compete with the AFL, we have to be truly national and be representative in every state.
“I'm not saying we expand right now.
“But over the next five, eight or 10 years, we should look to go to 20 teams.
“We had 20 teams in 1995. Unfortunately some teams got killed off because of Super League, so a few teams dropped off during the compromise. Adelaide and Perth were cut.

I think I'll take Politis's opinion over yours.

How was the last deal close? It was $350mill cash v $400mill cash. Over 5 years thats $250mill!
