The two masterminds think theres not enough talent for Club 18

An uneven number of teams is unsustainable in the long run (being inefficient with a required weekly bye), and historically that situation never lasts long.. usually about half a decade.

There's no way the NRL are going to cut a team to take things back to 16, so 18 teams is odds-on by the end of this decade - regardless of what those guys say.

Odds are in favour of it being announced around 2025/6 for a 2028 admission in line with the next TV deal kicking in.

re the player depth thing, it is a point but as its 1. unmeasurable and 2. the NRL seems to have zero strategy of how to deal with it then it will be what it will be.

I`m still not convinced that the extra funding for the clubs wasn`t to ensure that the clubs are wealthy enough to:
a) compete with fumbleball for the best juniors which is happening more and more in N.S.W. and Qld now;
b) continue to denude union of its` best juniors and thereby continue to cripple that competitor. I even just read today about two more schoolboy union stars who have signed up for the Panthers and St. George.

By both ensuring we get and retain the best talent is probably the most sure-fire way of maintaining our status as the most popular television code in the country. The rest will eventually look after itself. Hopefully.
Also Bribe to make expansion easier

Regarding player depth, isn’t that the NRL’s fault, teams like Penrith continue to pump out talent junior after talented junior, as they can’t keep them all they have to let some go or some of their more established juniors go e.g. Steve Crichton as there are no rewards/concessions under the salary cap for developing juniors.
Why should clubs like the Roosters and Bulldogs just sit back and then scoop up talented players that come onto the open market without paying overs for them ?.
Each year the Tigers have one or two stand out players and then those players get taken by other clubs, it is really hard to believe every club has the same salary cap.
You can’t keep every player but the salary cap should reward clubs for developing club juniors into NRL players.
That way there would be plenty of players available for expansion as it wouldn’t be only a handful of clubs developing these players.

One million percent this

reward clubs who produce juniors via generous salary cap exemptions and if forces more clubs to do it

Problem is not all things are equal. So in reality roosters are in an area with few jnr rl clubs, where as penrith is an area with lots of jnr rl clubs. Roosters can’t just magic up kids that want to play rl.

and what are you defining as a local jnr? Take sharks, people keep saying how important they are as a big jnr area. In reality sharks only have four players in their 36 man squad that played for a local jnr club.

or are saying a jnr is a player that has come through from u19’s In sg ball or qrl equivalent? In which case you might be surprised when you look at which clubs debut into the nrl the most players.

This is the second time in this very thread that I’ve had to pull you up on your lies on the very same topic. You really do post your lies and BS as if they are truths and keep it going.
This was posted on April 12th this year in this thread, and you even apologised for your mistake. Now you are doing it again. Seriously.

Mate that isn't true about Cronulla juniors in the top 30. Honestly Its easy to see that you are spinning things but please do not make up shit without due checking.
Cronulla juniors in their top 30:

Connor Tracey - De La C'bah
Kade Dykes - De La C'bah
Samuel Stonestreet - De La C'bah
Siteni Taukomo - Gymea
Blayke Brailey - Aquina Colts
Josh Finau - Engadine (development)

And there are a few around at other clubs too, off the top of my head:
Flanagan and Pele - Dogs
Salmon, Peachey and Sorrenson - Panthers
Townsend - Cowboys
Brailey- Knights

You aren’t even considering the juniors that are getting signed earlier than their Firsts debut, most notably the Bulldogs, who have been trying to raid heavily since Gould went back there. Canberra as well.
Everyone here knows you spin your shit on this topic all because your club, The Storm, are still not producing juniors to firsts and rely on other clubs players to put in their systems.
you do realise people can see right through the directions that you try and skew the conversations?

Haha so 5 not 4, my bad! And Im not critisicing Cronulla, just waking people up who think the heavy lifting is being done by some clubs.

To get a fair representation of that youd need to look at where 1st teamers played U16's, then U19's and what club they debuted for. Thats a much fairer indication of what NRL clubs have put in place good pathway systems to first grade.
Where they happen to be born and played U12's has nothing to do with the NRl club.

re Storm they are one of the best clubs in the comp at bringing through a Jnr to debut for the club. And not just any players, real quality ones. The fact the player wasnt born in Melbourne is irrelevant. We'll keep feeding clubs like the Sharks with quality players Im sure lol

So a round up of the last few weeks where it seems every bid is favourite with our esteemed leader lol Only poor old NZ2 didn't warrant a mention.

Melbourne2
Vlandys May 23
V'landys insisting the league 'would have to be mad not to look' at expanding in Australia's second-largest state.
'The reason why we would never rule it out is because one thing the the Dolphins have proven to us is people love cross-town rivalries,' he said.
'That’s why we can’t rule out. The other reason why a second Melbourne team is good for us, is that our junior base in Victoria has expanded considerably.'

Brisbane3
Vlandys May 23
And speaking to News Corp, V'landys said one of the expansion teams could be located in Brisbane’s western corridor, an area which has been aggressively targeted by the AFL.
'The western corridor of Brisbane is a genuine consideration,' he said.
'We will look at the data and where the participation levels are. If there is a demand, we will supply it. There has to be a demand. The Western Corridor has not been forgotten.'

PNG
Vlandys June 23
"We want rugby league be in the heart, souls and minds of people and that extends to PNG," he said.
"PNG is on the top of the list at the moment for expansion," V'landys said.

Perth
Vlandys June 23
V’landys, who was originally against a Perth team, admits he has had a change of heart.
“I’ll acknowledge I was wrong with my initial thoughts,” he said. “Perth has to be high on the table now, especially with a premier so passionate about wanting to have a team there. They warrant serious consideration.
“If you’ve got a government that’s going to get 100 per cent behind you, you’ve got a run-up start. We had a really good conversation and we’ll be chatting again. The fact he rang in his first week in the job shows how keen they are.”

You forgot the most important part of all these

You know he doesn't make the decisions right?
You should be targeting kate jones, not PVL, he'll just go with what the commission decide has the least disruption to the rest of the clubs
