NRL is arguably the most lucrative sports rights in the country, based on audience size, origin and future growth opportunities.
If Paramount could find $600mill to bid for a lesser value AFL I see no reason they couldnt do the same for NRL. And lets not forget we are coming from a lower start point of just $400mill a year.

Of course thanks to Vlandys we wont go to market for another 3 years or so and who knows what the tv landscape looks like by then.

Ten can't even afford the rights to the Bass Hill over 90s mixed pairs bowls let alone the NRL rights. Paramount won't bust the budget on the rights. Only a delusional idiot would believe otherwise.

If that’s the case why did they offer $600m pa to the fumblers? It’s a risky move considering the fumblers could of said yeah sure we’ll take that.

Yeah it is supposed to increase when their never ending redevelopment finally gets completed probably around 2057 lol but atm they can’t even get over 11,000.

They’ve gotten over 11k this year and a couple over 12k. Highest 12757 round 1 so capacity must be closer to 13k which is still terrible admittedly and not much of a bar.

If they own their own stadium probably making more money. Looks good on TV too

Even though it is only a little Stadium I’d rather an atmosphere of a full house of 12-13,000 than only 12-13,000 in a Stadium that seats 80,000 people.
I know Nichos’ dad and he says the atmosphere at Shark Park is just crazy when it’s a full house.

It looks terrible on TV. A stadium surrounded by apartments. Is there room left to get out up to 25k?
It does, I was looking at it during their clash against the Dragons the other week, it looks dreadful.
Half completed apartments at that, from the looks of it.

That depends how much they spend maintaining it and how much match day costs to put on. A decent Stadium hire is $100k ish so that’s only an extra 3000 fans attending before you’re making more money, probably less if you factor in costs to maintain stadium and put games on.

Strawman, no one’s suggesting an 80k stadium is a good stadium for club nrl. Nrl should have A min 20k capacity requirement with 75% seats and undercover.

People try to compare NRL to NFL, it isn’t and never will be.
Who does? There is no reason nrl clubs couldn’t be avg 20k crowds, but to do that you need a decent 25k stadium. To say we should have 12k stadiums because they look good with 10k in them is very self defeating,.

Can’t believe the Broncos are playing the Bulldogs at Belmore Sports Ground, it was a shit ground in the 80’s let alone in 2023.
Bears lead the Bulldogs 30-6 in the NSW Cup with 5 mins to go and will be competition leaders again after today.
Looks like Josh Reynolds goes out a loser in his final game.

It sounds like you do with a lot of your posts regarding playing games at larger Stadiums rather than suburban grounds, do you even look at the weekly crowd figures, you’d be lucky to get two-three games over 20,000 on a weekly basis.

Nope, Accor is just as sht as the shtty suburban grounds. Commbank, ammi, allianz, Suncorp all great stadiums that have helped grow crowds for the clubs who use them.

yeh and those clubs aren’t cracking or growing towards 20k because they are playing in venues not fitto get 20k people to them On a regular occasion.
