Hyperbole. Ipswich and surrounding regions had an 11% increase in junior numbers in 2024 from 2023.

Use the merits which are actually beneficial to the code as the main point push for the bid. Using AFL as the main focus of it is complete nonsense from him. He should know better.
Most people with half a brain, like myself and quite a few others on here, have been saying for months/years that another SEQ team is a decade or more away.

PVL essentially confirmed that this week.

Yep the NRL would be shooting itself in the foot adding another SEQ team now with the Dolphins still brand new. They need time to build up their support base. Minimum 8 years away before a new team there.

I do think there should be a third Brisbane team. Dolphins should’ve been in the comp 10 years ago. It’s a travesty that Sydney had a second fumbleball team before Brisbane had a second nrl team.

Trust me, it doesn`t. In fact, statistics show that Masters` Degrees have little bearing on income earning capacity.
Did you read that on the internet or was it a WB tweet? The facts show something quite different lol

It`s been a hot topic around here because my daughter is considering doing one and my wife is against it and I place a lot of store in her opinion when it comes to matters education, christ I`ve got two kids are Chemical Engineers and one who`s in 5th year Med (all from UNSW) and it`s all down to her, so when she told me they were a waste of time I believed her.
I showed her that article and she laughed and said uni propaganda, I`m not so sure now.

Tbf my masters was useless
So was my other post grad diploma where I came top ten in the state lol

If I had my time again I would’ve left school at 16 and gone to tafe to study building and architecture

A decent site foreman makes 5k a week at least

And I’ve paid hundreds of ks to architects who are useless.

Of course you linked UQ.

Why wouldn’t they be pro masters degree? They want enrolment and student fee money.

$25k to $55k per masters pop is nice pocket lining.

Canavan makes good points for the nyc not to return

Also shows the issues with norths juniors relocating to wa
Yes and no to both your points. There’s both positives and negatives to both and it really depends how want your narrative to look like where you’ll land.

Clearly as new QRL chair, Brian wants to keep the best kids in QLD developing in QLD cup sides because that’s what benefits him and his job.

I like Brian, he has always been a genuinely nice bloke but his recent views seem a bit archaic in thought. Maybe the overall game itself has gone past him. Not sure. He is a good operator though.

QRL admittedly does need a bit of a kick in the ass and Ikin can’t do it all himself (he has done a top notch job to date though). Brian needs to concentrate on bush footy and bringing clubs below QRL up to scratch in my view.
