Toowoomba is not in the Darling Downs. Toowoomba to Ipswich is only 1.5 hours by car, which is more or less the same drive as Redcliffe to Brisbane CBD yet the Dolphins are happy with splitting games between their suburban ground in Redcliffe and Lang Park at Milton.

The Darling Downs is a farming region on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range in southern Queensland, Australia. The Downs are to the west of South East Queensland and are one of the major regions of Queensland. The name was generally applied to an area approximating to that of the Condamine River catchment upstream of Condamine township but is now applied to a wider region comprising the Southern Downs, Western Downs, Toowoomba and Goondiwindi local authority areas.

You do realise that if you cull a team you don’t instantly just get solely young fans for the new team. You get a new base spread across every demographic for the new team just like the old team, except the base is much smaller than the old team because it hasn’t been around as long. Plus you’re trying to convince new people to part with their cash, rather than get cash off people you’ve convinced already, which again, is always harder. I don’t think you quite get what I’m talking about and are just focused on “young = good.” It’s more complex than that.

Most important demo is always young ppl for reasons I stated. NRL shouldn't spend any money looking to regain lapsed fans. In fact I highly doubt it does.

Easts Tigers have at least four clubs in eastern Logan. There's the Springwood Tigers and Rochedale Tigers in the north-east and the Flagstone Tigers and Yarrabilba Tigers in the south-west. They've also formed a rugby league academy at Mabel Park State High.

You don't know what you're talking about.

The old drunks who play the pokies at Leagues Clubs in Sydney wear nappies.

Double standard; Ipswich Toowoomba won't work but easts Logan will.

Lol, whole advertising industry is based on that. Demo's more important in broadcasting deals than Perth team could ever be.
Yeh because targeting 18-21 year olds is really smart when it’s the 30-55 age groups with the most disposable income and families to bring along to games. You’re an idiot.

Who's inclined to try new things 55 year old or younger ppl?! Look at TV ratings charts which are ranked by young demo who are more valuable to advertisers & therefore more more valuable to broadcasters & therefore more valuable to sports. Ur arguing against facts

It's younger ppl; more receptive to marketing, potential to be customers longer, more valuable to advertisers.

Where the nrl needs to market is how to turn the large inactive fanbase into an active one. We can see from the tv and social media numbers there’s lots of nrl fans out there but we can also see from crowds, memberships and merch sales that not many of them are actively engaged in supporting a club. There’s a massive ready market to aim for.

A large inactive North Sydney market, into a larger active Perth market... gotcha

As someone who just started motorsport at 50 I’d say the person with the disposable income to spend on leisure time. Being an active Rl fan is expensive, not many 18 year olds with the cash to actively follow an nrl club these days.
