The other thing with with Starc, he will be 32yo next month

If he does get axed, might be hard to come back in the test side over the next year or two, then buckleys after that, he is no Peter Siddle 🧐

They will give Starc until Adelaide I reckon. If he doesn't take wickets with the pink ball, he never will.

I can't see any scenario where they drop Lyon for Swepson. He would have to cop some serious stick from the England batsmen to get dropped, and I can't see any apart from maybe Stokes who will go after him.

Head over Khawaja from reports out there

Australia’s first Test XI complete as Starc avoids axe, Head wins Khawaja bat-off: Ashes Daily

Australia XI (probable): David Warner, Marcus Harris, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Cameron Green, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood

Disappointed for uzzie feel has always missed out on these 50/50 decisions throughout his career.

The only time i remember he sort of have has won a 50/50 decision with selectors was the 2019 WC whrn he pipped shaun marsh for the number 3 spot in the tournament.

Thunder get the double whammy of not having him and he not playing for Australia either

I look forward to us being 1/1 in the first over when Harris inevitably fails. Looking more and more like we'll need 300-400+ run series from Smiffy/Labs to win this series, especially of we make Stokes look like Sobers again

predictable line up, they always go with the incumbents cuz its easier when they don't have to think

One positive picking Harris over Khawaja

The first two decks will most likely be the toughest for batting across the series

I hope he doesnt, but if Harris fails (which many think he will), then he will have to be dropped. You would imagine Khawaja next in line and walks into the MCG and SCG tests, which will be better for batting

No surprise but that myth Starc shouldn't be there. Picking a player solely based on being a lefty is moronic
