I didn't think so. On replay it looks dubious, sure, but live my first reaction was "Oh you f**king idiot". There was a noise, the bat was miles away from the body and pads and McCullum was absolutely convinced. Fair enough to give it out based on what was seen live.

 Doesn't change the fact it was an incorrect decision. As I said, I'm not defending Dussey, he should be off the team IMO, but he should not have been out on that ball.

No, not fair enough if he didn't f**king hit it.

Live, all the indications where that he did. Replays might indicate the possibility that he didn't, but live it had all the hallmarks of a little edge and the umpire made the call based on that.

Probably not. However, as I said, live it looked out. There was a definite noise in the stump mike and the bat was miles from anything else. Buggered if I know what the noise was after watching slow motion replays and whatnot, but the umpire doesn't have that luxury

Perhaps the umpire should've done his job and called it wide as it was? ;-)

I would have given it tbh. There was certainly a noise and based on what is available to the umpire looked like he'd hit it. They're only human remember, and as far as incorrect decisions go it was a really, really minor one

Umpires are supposed to judge on what they see, not what they hear. If there is doubt a batsman shouldn't be given out.
