And to the Barmy Army in town, dont forget to support the world game after day 2 of the first test (theres a chance it will be raining by then)

But Brisbane Roar will play West Sydney Wanderers on friday night after stumps on day 2. So head on over to Suncorp to experience the football experience downunder

If theres one thing the British like more than Cricket, its Football

Well we've had bugger all rain for the last couple of months, its just started raining every day for the last couple of weeks which is good (for the lawn at least).

The entire Gabba outfield was relaid two months ago so it should look absolutely schmick.

Just had a look at the forecast, weather looks brilliant for tues and wed mainly sunny 10% chance of rain.

THEN

from Thursday day 1 of the test, 4 days of possible thunderstorms 80% chance of rain :crazy::crazy::crazy:

I was at my mum's in Bilambil (sort west tweed without as many bogans or ferals) and Saturday saw about 4 storms roll through starting at about 7:30 AM.

Was awesome for lazing around and doing nothing but let's hope its gone by Thursday!

Talk that we are going to gamble with the 4 quicks (Lyon 12th). Big gamble first match of the series. Can see the merit though. Anyone agree/disagree with the move?

Playing Lyon is a gamble, I dont see any difference.

All depends on the pitch for mine.

The reason why they're thinking of 4 pace bowlers is because SuperNotchXfactor is in the team.

He's as reliable as a Leyland P76.

With rain forecast throughout the test, being at the Gabba , its probably a useless exercise playing Lyon. The outfield with be wet, so harder to grip and spin the ball, not that Lyon is a world beater anyway, with the rain/wet he will be even less effective.

Going in with 4 quicks, and the possibility of Sunshine able to bowl a few is the way to go here IMO, its also a bloody good insurance in case Johnson bowls crap, Clarke can then use him a lot less than he has too. Last ashes test in Gabba Notch did 0/177. Faulkner in for Lyon strengthens the batting as well, which we need.

Doubt Sunshine will be 100% right to bowl, maybe a few overs per innings, aint worth risking him bowling a lot of overs or even at all IMO, hammys are touchy bastards even when you feel your right to go (from personal experience)

We pick Sunshine and his hammy goes or he cant bowl a lot of overs, Johnson bowls crap, then we are up shit creek with Siddle and Harris, over working Harris ain't a good thing. Rain forecast throughout

We need to win here and win Perth. The other 3 tests we will real tough to get the points

4 quicks please
