Yeah Punter had some shockers as a captain.

Better leader and man manager behind the scenes.

Tactically though for a bloke whose nickname was Punter and loved a punt was very conservative which most found quite surprising.
Tactically Pat isn’t too bad imo. He’s a little conservative but has had some brilliant performances. The World Cup final comes to mind when he burned through our 5th bowling options whilst India rebuilt. Clarke was very aggressive as we lacked the talent under him, he was one captain who would put us in a losing situation if it also increased our chances of winning (for example he would set the opposition 300 to score in 100 overs rather than set 350 in 70 bringing a draw into play). Pat is a far better man manager than Clarke though, all the former players clearly respect him and he gets the best out of them. Clarke on the other hand, you’d do well to find 5 players who like him, seemed to get focused on silly power plays like homeworkgate.

Cummins is a much better white ball captain than red IMO. He works well to a structure. Red ball he seems to drift way too much which is why he generally plays more conservative, because he can leave it the same way for a while

I think Clarke is a merkin but I don't think he's any more of a merkin than Punter or a guy like Haydos or Junior. He's just never been popular so people notice it more, and his man management skills were usually poor. Tactically though he was excellent. His tactical game and Punters people management would have just about made the perfect captain

For those who didn't know this young man Jaiswal travelled 16 million kilometres from his village and lived in a shoebox from age 6 months.

His family was so poor they couldn’t afford horseshoes for their horse so he had to carry the horse to and from school every single day.

Gilly probably thinks this Jaiswal cured Aids and Cancer whilst also scavenging for food in his mud hut.

I mean it's a bit hyperbolic but in the commentators defence it's super remarkable that an Indian who isn't from the highest caste or two actually gets selected in the National side. Normally they take them in a tour to the UAE and sell them to construction moguls to fund the IPL

I've only been watching since maybe 3 or so but I reckon I've seen four catches go through vacant cover, or over an inexplicable short cover fielder...

Marsh bowls gentle medium pace off a 10 step run up. Why the f**k is he bowling so many no balls.

I love Patty and I'd let him do the missus if he asked politely but he has had a rubbish match tbh. Not that he's alone.

(Plz cricket gods)

Surprised the commentators haven't given credit for Jaiswal's innings to Kholi's energy.

Well they can't: credit goes to England and Baz.

Wasn't MacDonald just extended??? Fair play to him but he's won the lotto.

But this team is as sloppy AF atm and clearly out of ideas.
