Big blow.

So in the next test Watling will bat at 6, Craig 7 and then it's not the best from there with Bracewell 8 etc.........

Neesham will have to bat today though!!!

If Watling bats 6 Ronchi will keep

Ok. You reckon Craig may be left out for Perth.

Williamson bowls part time spin doesn't he?

Williamson does - I don't think they'll leave out Craig, unless Santner plays - but he's very inexperienced.

Straight swap Ronchi in for Neesham is most likely - bowling attack will be whoever is fit I imagine

If there is more rain today and the players are on and off, it could go down to the wire. When was the last time a result was undecided at the Gabba going into the final session (if ever)? It's normally a bloodbath

Yep, was pretty obvious he was labouring - real shame, although he didn't show it, he (and Corey Anderson) are exciting talents, if they were Australian Brayshaw would be jizzing all over the booth about their levers and the size of grounds (and I'd back Anderson to hit the ball harder than Marsh any day tbh).

Might now mean Watling plays as a bat, and Ronchi keeps - perhaps not a bat option at Perth.

Don't think they'd play Santner as all-rounder, but guess they could and play 4 pace bowlers...

We've commonly had poor first tests in recent years, but the losses of Anderson, Neesham, potentially Southee, and the well underdone Boult means we're up against it.

On McCullum, guess you Aussies haven't seen him in tests, he's well and truly capable of a backs to the wall effort - we'd have most confidence in that context on him, Williamson (who is good eh?) and Watling... He's not always ultra aggressive in tests
I rate Neesham much higher than Anderson TBH... He's a better test batsman IMO.. Anderson is likely to come in and score a brisk 35 off 20 balls... But Neesham is more likely to build an innings of substance.

I take it that Matt Henry will in for Southee at the WACA... So maybe Wagner would come in for Neesham as an extra seamer... Considering how poor we've batted as a unit this test it seems crazy to replace an all rounder with another seamer...

How's Milne?? I know he's strictly a limited overs bowler but maybe we could go all guns blazing at the WACA and play Milne and Henry with Boult and Bracewell...

Milne would be great to watch at the WACA...

155km half volleys with the odd peach....

Yep, Neesham is a better test bat that Anderson atm - although he didn't show it in the first innings - but Brayshaw would wet himself over Anderson's power - it is literally breathtaking

Milne has shin problems, so not available. McLenaghan would either be good, or abysmal at the WACA - strange choice though, I really don't rate him. Hopefully Southee can play, might be worth going 4 quicks (Boult, Southee, Wagner, Henry) leaving out Craig and playing Ronchi... dunno, I'd be tempted to play Wagner regardless, although I am not a fan, he will at least be consistent

Are Anderson's levers as big though?

Dunno, Brayshaw could measure them - they generate some power though

For such a good player, Taylor has looked shit for nearly a year now, really don't get what's up with him

Taylor has all the talent in the world...just looks like he couldn't care less a lot of the time. Must be incredibly frustrating for NZ fans

Taylor is my pet problem with that team at the moment. I've always been a massive supporter of the guy... But he's been so bad over the last year or so.... It's like he's content with where he is...

There was a time... Just after he was sacked as skipper in that messy saga where he came out real determined... And he was churning out big score after big score.. But it's almost as if he's just lost that edge...

I think he needs to be dropped TBH...

Disagree, unfortunately...

But even if he did, there's nobody else
