Perth will be very interesting. Not sure why anyone would be writing off NZ after one bad test. It's gonna be a cracka at the WACA!

Roll out the bullshit.

This was Australia's weakest team in a decade; a team in transition.

The cuddly, lovely Kiwi chaps with all the tricks in the bag and a settled bowling attack and batting order was meant to measure up and show these wee whipper snapper Aussies a thing or two about what real test cricket is about.

As always, Kiwi cricket talks a talk, but wanks a wank. They were thoroughly outplayed, outclassed and I for one would rather watch a 4th XI WI Test side any day of the week...in fact, I already have my tickets to the first 3 days.
Be careful...

This NZ side came back very hard in the UAE vs Pakistan and in England against the poms after losing the first test.

Both tours that Australia were trounced on....

Not to mention the last tour of Australia... You beat us well I'm Brisbane and we came back and beat you in Hobart...

I think the Kiwis need some serious changes for Perth.

I'd axe Craig and Bracewell, who were servers of pure custard in Brizzie. Bring in Santner, Wagner and Henry and slide Watling up to 6.

 hysterical stuff - who knows, but as shiz points out, we're unbeaten anywhere for some time, and on recent overseas tours have started badly and bounced back hard, against opposition that the mighty Straya folded to

There won't be panicked selections, injury will force some changes - hopefully Boult in particular is better for having some bowling

Glad Starc got fined. Could've been more.

Aus bowling wasn't brilliant but had more than enough runs behind it that they just had to wait for errors from the Kiwi's.

Couldn't ask more from the batting. Fought through a tough stage early (who knows what happens if one of those jaffa's from Southee jagged Burns early on) then cashed in big time.

NZ worry is obviously Taylor at 4 and what happens with the lineup with Neesham/Southee probably missing. There was a few positives with the bat they could probably take - Williamson, Openers fought pretty well also, but not a great test from them.

Hopefully Perth is more of a contest

That opponent we beat 5-0 in Australia...

You would make a great point if the series was being played in England. Quick question mate is it being played in England ?

The general point is we've toured pretty well in recent years, and often started a series very poorly

But yep, in Australia is very tough - but despite all the nonsense in your media about being nice - this is a competitive group, and McCullum is hard as nails - they will be hurting.

Another big loss is Shane Bond, think his work with the bowling group was excellent.

And yeah, was Starc always an asshole, or is this just I response to the plastic man's critique - seriously, throwing the ball at a tail ender - what a man

Southee said yesterday that he will be right to go for the second test

Hope so - to be competitive we need him and Boult bowling well - he bowled well, but not much, and Boult was awful...

Just not sure how healthy Boult is, or whether he's comfortable with his back

Good on Smiffy for calling Starc on his childish behaviour.

Hope the Kiwis bounce back. They've got the ability to match it, always hard to play at your best as a unit when you're struck with injuries to bowlers during the game.

I can't fathom why Brisbane couldn't draw out a bigger crowd. Poms aside, NZ would have to be our sporting rival and we can't go close to filling the stadium at least once? Sure the result doesn't look good but FFS, the Kiwi's have their best team on paper in a long time and the expats and Aussies don't want to lob up and watch them?

I think if the Kiwis would have performed better on Day 1 then the crowds may have come in over the weekend.

Thank goodness there are only 2 more tests and then the mighty Windies will be here.

 yes, I imagine the crowds will be flooding in to see the Windies B side
- seems their best players will be playing the more demanding 20:20 stuff...

Have a great summer champ

The Windies tour, minus their best players - who aren't THAT good anyway - may well do a lot of damage to Test cricket in this country.

Crowds will be abysmal, and rightly so. What genuine Aussie cricket fan would want to pay their hard earned to see an awful, borderline Windies B side get pummelled over 3 days.

It'd be the cricket version of 50 Shades of Grey. With the Windies as the chick and the fans as the movie goer/book reader.
