Warner has now played 11 first class games with an average of 60 and a highest score of something like 211. He was Australia's best batsmen in Australia A's tour of Zimbabwe. You believe he hasn't the temperament or skill for test cricket. Well, that is your opinion based off the fact you probably have seen very little of Warner's first class career ... but I will take Sehwag's and Greg Chappel's opinion over yours every day of the year.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia-v-new-zealand-2011/content/current/story/542902.html

My opinion will be proven to be correct.

Despite the fact Warner shouldn’t be there I actually believe they should give him all 6 tests now that they have chosen him. At leats give him a chance unlike others int he past.

Care factor 0 on what Chappel and Sehwag think.

I am sorry. In two of his last THREE tests. Yeah lets dump a guy who has scored a century and 88 in two of his last three tests. You sound like the ignorant fool who forms an opinion based off some ridiculous source (media or a Hughes hater) and then won't back off that opinion even when the fact tell you something totally different.

I don’t hate Hughes

Not my fault he is rubbish.

NO it is not ridiculous. You inferred that the disaster of Hughes and Warner opening would be recitified by Watson returning

When in fact Watson has only averaged 24 so far this year and should move down the order.

Yes it is ridiculous.

Watson would be chosen on bowling alone so comparing his batting average to Hughes is silly.

I'll be honest, I am not a big fan of Hughes BUT this irrational hatred of this young guy when all he has done is score a century and an 88 in his last three tests is making me hope he lights it up against NZ and prove all you irrational idiots wrong.

Lol so wanting him to be dropped is an “irrational hatred”? I thought Johnson should have been dropped, I must hate him.

So he's gone 10 in 6 tests taking aside the Melbourne test.

This is our spearhead

Since his 6-fer in Brisbane:

0, 0, 1, 0, 6, 1, 4, 1, 1, 3, 0 w/i

and for Pete that's actually pretty good going.

up to the 6-fer in Brisbane he went:

0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 2, 0, 1, 0, 2, 3

In his last 23 innings he has taken 1 or 0 wickets 16 times (69.6%)

I call him BC. Binary Code.

Now you are making little sense.

Let's compare the two players:

Hughes has scored a century and an 88 in his last three tests whilst averaging around 50. And yet you want him dropped?? Either you hate him or you are thinking irrationally. There is NO other reason you would want him dropped. NONE! ZIPPO!

Johnson has averaged over 50.00 with ball. You want him dropped??? Either you hate him OR you are thinking rationally JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER DAMN RATIONAL PERSON IN THE WORLD YOU WANT HIM DROPPED.

Hughes has performed and should not be dropped.

Johnson has NOT performed and should be dropped.

Hughes already has 1000 test runs. He will end up over 10,000.

NSW junior systems are the best in the world and Phil was a standout during his junior career, that transfered to Shield where he already has 5000 runs.

Happy 23rd Phil too.

whilst I agree with you I would like to know why more wasn't done with hies technique at a younger age.. It really is horrible and should have been fixed at a young age IMO.

not often that you fix something that ain't broken.

5000 fc runs at 50+ before your 23rd birthday isn't indicating a whole lot of problems. He'll sort it out at test level.

It certainly looks broken regardless of the runs he has scored. He will make it but he will not be as good as he could have been IMO.

I don't think so. Yeah he has to sort out the short of a length ball just on off stump, but everything else is pretty solid. The solution for the ones he's getting out to is to either cut or leave. Almost all of his outs are when he's playing a defensive or straight bat shot to balls going across him. He almost never gets out to balls he's cutting, so he just has to drop the bat out of the way and leave on length unless it has enough width for him to smack.

His driving is glorious and stuff into his body he is getting away for runs now. Not much more needed. I can really see a lot of people singing very different tunes about him and Warner in two years time.

Agree with Yappy and Mr Angry. You'll take 1000 runs from anyones first 15 tests. Won't surprise me if he gets to 10000 at his 30th birthday.

Special talent with a minor weakness edging it behind. That'll get better with expierience.

I'm expecting him to cash in the next 6 tests. Get a big chunk of his next 1000 runs.

The prospect of all these young blokes getting a go in the first test has been genuinely more excited about going to it this year, sick of seeing the same spastics year in, year out

I'd be happy if we played the three young blokes tomorrow and left Siddle out, but that wont happy.

So I guess if I have to leave one of the young guys out it would be Starc, I like Pattinson and Cutting.

Apparently it's Cutting that misses out...who wants to shoot Shittle in the foot?

So we leave the form Sheild bowler out on his home deck??? While a guy who has taken 10 wickets for 76 since Brisbane last yr is our spearhead??? The more things change the more they stay the same......

thats a big problem for him, the short ball over middle and off and he always tries to score off it

I think he just needs to learn to drop his hands and leave it
