Top scored chasing against the Saffa's last time around

He was incredibly poorly handled when he made the side.

Doesnt mean he should come back in right now but he's a batsmen with a ton of potential, if he clicks again i'd have little hesitation putting him back in the side - hasnt clicked yet though

Poorly handed you are kidding me..maybe he should have made runs, he was deplorable against New Zealand as well, he just leaves too many balls...plus he doesn't have a front foot, that will not work. Let not forget his fielding, or lack of, how many catches did he drop, I lost count.

I have more faith in Doolan, Burns, Marsh, etc than Usman

Can anyone name a worse top 3 in Australian test history?
1. Warner
2. Cowan
3. Quiney

Yuck.

I'd have picked Khawaja. I think he was dropped too early and I think he is the most talented of the bunch at the moment. Hughes needed more runs but I think more time away will do him good.

Picked at 3, picked at 6, dropped, picked at 3 again, top scores against saffa's in a successful chase, looked the goods against the kiwi's before getting run out, dropped after Hobart. Others had been batting worse than him.

Never allowed to settle in the slightest and hung out to dry at the expense of worse performing senior players.

That's poor handling of any player

Again, doesnt mean he deserves to suddenly walk back in, his form hasnt been good enough, just a bit frustrating. I think he'll bounce back eventually

A good batsman scores runs regardless of conditions, regardless whether they bat 3 or 6. Honestly it should be easier batting 6 and at 3 it is his natural position, he has no reason to complain. He was diabolical in Hobart, got out cheaply playing fishy shots and then drops 2 or 3 catches. You can carry a rubbish fielder (which Usman is) if he is scoring 100's but when he is scoring under 30...it becomes an issue.

Yes becuase Usman has done SOOOO well in the past against the high quality fast bowling, he has been next to rubbish and that is being ultra kind to him, who will ever forget him scoring 10 off 90 balls lol
You must of missed his 65 against the Saffa's where he took on Steyn with some top quality shots. IMO he is our long term number 3 the more tests we get into him before the Ashes the better. Quiney is just some stop gap Nuffy.

Alex Doolan is MUCH better...and unlike Khawaja he doesn't waste half a session to get 10!

SO Hazelwood will get a baggygreen this summer by the looks of it. He will promptly get injured as well. Love how the selectors don't make bowlers earn their baggygreen but young batsmen around the country can't get a look in.

I'd have preferred Doolan over Quiney. He is younger and in better form plus he is right handed.

2 more hundreds in Shield/FC matches than Khawaja and Hughes this season:lol:

Let me guess you doubted me when I stated that Sunshine would be elite years ago...

Doolan is your perfect no 3, attacking, can bat long innings and make the batsmen pay AND he is a good fieldsman unlike Hughes/Khawaja.

Young bowlers are delivering more than the young batsmen and the incumbent bowlers don't have the profile of the incumbent batsmen.

Plenty if you compare what a fast bowler has to do to get selected compared to batsmen.

Name them, saying "plenty" is just talking out of your rear end. Name them (and please don't say Hughes who averages 35 in FC cricket this summer)

You still sobbing over Hauritz being nowhere near the test team??

For starters Khawaja and Burns could do with a chance. Hughes is a guy who will get another chance in the future. Doolan is worthy as well.
