I'm actually starting to think that these younger Gen Y upstarts or whatever you call them, are immune to leadership. they're all ego and arrogance when they get to the test side these days and think they know it all . I reckon it would be a merkin of a job trying to galvanise them and win their hearts and minds. completely different to what it was like when Border et al was skipper and you didn't dare pass wind in the dressing room in case you got throttled...
The problem is they're all millionaires now even without test cricket. They feel like they don't need it so their egos are out of control.

And it doesn't help when selectors make such clearly idiotic decisions like picking MMarsh or not picking Bird.

We chucked it away yesterday. i dont think we should blame anyone but the selectors.

ITs not marsh fault he is in the side when he clearly isnt good enough.,

Like question for the thread. foreigners are invited to answer

Is mitch marsh the worst batsman in the top 6 in the world

Here is his record 600 runs @ 24 and 2 50s

Here is mitchell starcs record 769 runs @ 24.80 runs and 6 50s

Yeah, we're no chance now, pitch is flat as they're way ahead. Another inept display with bat will cost us yet again.

Meanwhile Duminy cruises to 100.

Glad i turned this shit off. Heads are already down, they'll fall apart once they finally get a bat-SA will just grind this team into the dirt. Hopefully this summer won't turn into the shitstorm of 2010/11 when the poms flattened us.

What we're now seeing is the how our batting has flattened our bowling after a great first day.

I'll be surprised if MMarsh and Nevill keep their place for the next test. Nevill might be a good keeper but his batting isn't up to test standard... He's worse than Starc..and the innings he has had, he has crumbled under pressure like in Sri Lanka.

Or for that matter if Voges and Khwaja aren't there at the end of the series.

Maybe we need to play New Zealand more often.

You could probably bat Starc at 6 in this team....he's more of an allrounder than MMArsh.

MMarsh might make it into the Zimbabwe team...

Saffers specials to win with 2 fast bowlers and a spinner bowling straight breaks.
Difference is they have an actual complete batting lineup. 6 guys who can bat well at test level. Our genius selectors think you can win by picking 3 form batsmen. 2 quicks and a mediocre spinner is all you need to rip through us.

6. Marsh
7. Neville

Doesn't work. Either need to get a lesser keeper who can bat or get a straight out batsmen at 6 and go with just the four bowlers.

NZ does the same thing with Santer batting 6. Gives me the shits. Need more than 5 specialist bats these days and if your keeper can't average at least 30 if not 35 then you're asking for trouble.

This has been a massive problem for the Aussie team lately, in days gone by when we were 4 wickets down I was confident we could still pile on the runs, but now, when we're 4 down you just know within 30mins we will be 6 down and opposition is into the tail.

I think part of having the allrounder (I use that term very loosely) is because of the injuries happening to the fast bowlers....
