Dissapointed with Lyon this summer

Maybe we should be bowling first if we win tosses? Especially if we dont have our main pace bowlers on deck

Lyons bowled pretty well in the first couple of innings as well, it's been third/fourth innings he's struggled

Australia potentially one session away from another embarrassing draw. FMD, we're so sh*t
The match at Adelaide was far from embarrassing, the Saffa's dug in as any quality test side should be capable of, and only had three bowlers.

Ditto here, we're a bowler down, makes it difficult. Plus frankly the Lankans have a good batting lineup, particularly Sangakkara.

This one is more disappointing but it is also not gone just yet.

Shattered I missed Hughes keeping.

Don't remember the last time I saw a keeper bowl in a Test but I had to give a friend a lift and I was gone for half an hour and in that time something historic happened.

f**k me, struggling.

BunniesMan will see this as the best wicket keeping of all time.

Hughes to keeper now in BM's eyes.
Within 5 years: Captain-Keeper-Opening batsman-Opening bowler.
And what he'll do once he starts bowling
He's bowled in shield cricket. Should give him a go with the ball as well.

And he did a better job keeping than Wade

I can't justify the hate directed at Lyon.

He's not a world class offie, but he's bowled well given he's had next to no f**king support from the keeper or the bowler at the other end.

Furthermore, this game could've been over if Hilfenhaus was out there. He's averaged just a tick over 21 this calendar year alone and can tie down an end, which is exactly what Lyon needs to get wickets.

If batsmen can pick off easy runs against the quicks, then they don't need to take risks and chance their arm against the slow bowlers like Lyon, so they just hit the bad ones and block everything else.

We know you're lying because you said you were doing something with a 'friend' and it's obvious you're devoid of friends... human ones anyway.

No doubting the class of SA, especially Du Plessis, but that's a match we really should have won and a series lost because of our lack of killer instinct. Like you said, this is even worse and there should be some serious questions asked if Sri Lanka save this, regardless of Hilfy playing.
Shows how crazy it was that this side was actually just playing for the no.1 ranking!

Yeah, I don't hate Lyon it's just that he doesn't have the venom to take wickets when they are needed. I think he has two issues, firstly he lacks variety - no arm ball, no real changes in pace or loop either. This 'Jeff' ball he supposedly has? No idea.

The second thing is that he looks like he is afraid to get hit for boundaries. A spinner can't be afraid of batsmen going after him, Lyon seems content to bowl economically and hope for wickets.
