Haze is out of the second test and the India ODIs.

You'd have to imagine Bird will just slot straight in for the second test. Who knows what they'll do for the ODIs after the Mennie/Tremain/Worral debacle twelve months ago.

geez, how nervous did Oozie look ?

If Warner can come good hopefully it catches on, we got another test for some of these guys to get familiar with these conditions, so hopefully they put it to good use

Khawaja has done himself in surely.

I am a fan of his but he is simply shot mentally when it comes to red ball cricket.

It could be a bad couple of days for the minnows with England getting flogged and now the bangers looking like losing a test they were well on top of.

Bangladesh continue to be poor in the third innings of games. They should have put this target out of reach.

Yeah we could be anything today. Given the way we've capitulated in the Indian series we're a good chance of doing the same here.

It was a bit mental picking him after no cricket for so long to be fair...he went to India and was basically just there to sit around the sheds and have net sessions, so he's had longer out than the rest comfortably. In fact his last game of cricket was on the 22nd of January. It's Henriques in Sri Lanka all over again.

Our selectors really are deadshits. If they see him as part of the Ashes make up (and they definitely should) then why not have him at home preparing through domestic cricket? He can get in pre-season training (I note NSW began on the weekend with an intra-squad match, I assume the other states have started too) the full one day cup and 2-3 shield games before the Ashes.

In another head scratcher, SOK has been called into the squad to replace Haze. Why? I rate the guy, but if you've just dropped him for Ashton Agar, and Agar has performed well in this test, what point is there bringing in SOK? Why do you need four spinners in the squad?

I can't work this one out to save my life. Are they going to play three spinners and Cartwright at 6 to share the new ball in the second test? If so, why not just play Swepson?

Why wouldn't you just send Coulter-Nile or Faulkner ahead of the ODIs in India as a like-for-like swap?

Agree re: SOK. Two full timers plus Big Show, Smudge and Mr. Teeny as part timers it seems overkill to bring on another turner.

Plus SOK is still serving his NSW suspension for the most recent drunken antics, so they'd probably be pretty pissed off that he might wind up playing a Test match while he's suspended. Really undermines their authority as a state cricketing body....it just makes absolutely no sense to me.

Also, with the injury to Haze, I sincerely home Cummins is withdrawn from the India ODIs.

We can't afford to be staring down an Ashes series with Haze/Starc/Patto already injured and risk Cummins in a nothing series.

Surely they're not thinking of only playing Cummins as the sole pace bowler. They'll end up busting the bloke again

Surely Bird replaces Haze in test 2. Can't remember the touring squad so not sure what other options they have. Pretty sure Bird went though.
