Yeah true but Travis has played a decent amount of Test cricket O/S already and done SFA.

He needs to step up he will be our ODI opener in India for the WC later this year so I would have reservations if he doesn't at least offer something in the tests.

It may be harsh but he needs to do something in either test series in England or India otherwise he really shouldn't be playing outside of Australia.

This myth is still going?

He's played 12 tests OS including 6 of his first dozen. And maybe the odd A game? But we barely do that anymore so is it any wonder newer players struggle? Different discussion I guess

I don't think he'll have anything like the same impact in India but he's not the player he was when he started either. It's a vacant argument IMO.

I think he'll probably have one good knock and then be quite scratchy. As for England, if the top order does their job he should be fine. If they fall in a heap I wouldn't be blaming Head too much.

“I was close. I got told from George Bailey and Andrew McDonald that it was one of the toughest (decisions) they had to make for the tour. I’m very disappointed, I would have loved to be on it,” Zampa said on Friday.

“I thought with the way I’ve been going in international cricket in particular this was going to be my opportunity.

“That was the messaging I got six weeks ago, this could be a very good chance I could be on it. Now I’m not I’m very flat about it.

Was probably fighting for Swepson's spot, maybe Murphy's as well. But then you have two leg-spinners.

Agar left arm shithouse so at least he has a different angle. I think the selectors wanted that variety in the squad.

Should have picked Zampa over Morris

Him and Agar can be flooged to death in the nets for our bats

I think Morris actually has a future, a lot to like about his action

I would have Zampa over Agar, especially seeing how Agar bowled against a very poor Saffa batting line up, didn't seem to trouble them in the slightest

India haven't had a great 12 months of test cricket. They lost to SA, lost the replayed test in England and were pushed all the way by Bangladesh. Bumrah, Pant and possibly Jadeja are unlikely to play the test series. They are ripe for the picking.

Unfortunately, I think our lack of second choice spinner may prove the difference though.

TBH - he hadn't done much in Australia prior to the ashes last year (except make a few good 20/30s and get out)
This summer at home has been is breakout for consistency - so let's see how he goes from here
