Wagner... jury's out on him for mine

Wagner could be the next big thing for me, capable of cranking up good pace and swing and he's been taking wickets by the bucket loads in first class cricket.

This test could be where he announces himself.

Wagner looked really good in Port Elizabeth, bowled really well with no luck.

Any play there today in these conditions it's a chance to make some real inroads.

unbelievable, we're having a summer for the ages, and the first day of a test it rains at that venue... pretty much nowhere else in the country

Although they have shown Astle's amazing blazing 222 against England in Christchurch... one of those things that you remember where you were, anyone near a TV stopped... except my wife, who was shouting at me from the garden, words like "lazy", and "bastard" were used, and my pleas to her to come and watch because we'll never see the like again were not answered in the positive :(

That was indeed one of those special moments you never forget.

And yeah pretty ironic with the rain given everywhere else in the country runs were being smashed all over the place. Over 2000 runs scored in the 3 domestic one-day games today.

Are we starting to see signs that perhaps, though the way that they went about it was undoubtedly a shambles, the appointment of McCullum as a captain was the right one?

1 more and into the tail...

But we've long known our bowlers can do a job... question is will they have to do it again 2 sessions after they bowl England out????

33 run partnership between Anderson and Finn though not great, finish them off Kiwi's

ALso Has to be one of the nicer test grounds (especially when full with a pom side touring)

Always had decent wraps on Bruce Martin, unlucky to be a left arm spinner a couple of years younger than Captain Dan
