Overton puts Boult over the fence, they should have opened with him

this is a totally different game, short pitch bowling, field gone defensive, Overton plundering the attack

need a bowling change

Overton doesn't break Bannerman's miraculous record set in the very first test

58 all out.

NZ now get at least 1 full daylight session and England wont likely have a new ball under lights today unless something remarkable happens from here.

Wow, that was reminiscent of Australia's innings' at Trent Bridge and the one in RSA where they were 9-20 odd.

Tbh it's the best thing that could have happened.

English cricket always veers from excellent to the ridiculous in short time spans and when we do become awful we're always slow to react. For example our ODI side was still stuck in the 90s playing style right into the last WC ffs.

So hopefully these kind of performances bring about the necessary change ahead of the home summer in a similar fashion to when Australia were embarrassed by the Saffas in Hobart which forced a mass rethink.

Short term pain, long term gain.
