Rudolph survives an LBW review because it was a no ball (and only just), would've been out lbw otherwise

Bracewell deserves that, why would the ump check that for the No Ball??? FFS!!! He was way behind the line.

Great third session from New Zealand. I am confident that South Africa can respond really well with the ball. But hopefully we can do more with the bat before then. Losing Kallis and de Villiers for a combined total of zero is pretty big and is what really hurt. Philander is a decent bat, so hopefully him and Rudolph (who still has a lot to prove in the national team) can put up a good partnership together. The remaining wickets are however tailenders, so it's these two who need to put some more runs on the board. I would love to see us get 350+, but would be satisfied with anything over 300 from here.

SA all out for 238.

Wanna see a patient and committed batting performance from the boys here.

Hopefully there is some common sense and Nicol heads down to 5 or 6 in the second innings. He just doesn't have the technique to survive opening against this attack with a fresh new ball, we are essentially playing 9 batsmen with him opening and Martin at 11

Props to New Zealand did very well to in the end roll us for 238. My man Morne made his 500th test run and didn't get out, so that will be the good that I will take from our batting this morning. Pretty happy with our bowling so far, so hopefully we can finish this innings with a lead

Lunch on Day 2, New Zealand 40/1, trail by 198
Current partnership is 33, so they are doing pretty solidly, but a quick strike after lunch will turn things around a bit

Morne!:ls: Had McCullum dropped one ball, then did it all himself the next, bowling Guptil out for 16
New Zealand 41/2 first over after lunch

this is developing into a beautiful spell from my man Morne, really rattled Ross Taylor in that last over

love New Zealand commies. Talking about Brendon McCullum: "he's very mis-understood by the people of this nation ... is it because he has a tattoo?"

WICKET! Important breakthrough as the partnership had started to settle, Tahir got McCullum for 48. New Zealand 106/3
