Technical problems imo. Ponting continued to walk across his stumps and Hughes struggles to get behind the short ball as he goes across but doesn't actually use the crease to go back. That's my opinion anyway.

My conclusion for batting on this wicket is fairly simple. Do a Matty Hayden and stand 1m outside the crease and force the bowler to change his line therefore eliminating the lbw. Hayden used to do it so well. Get the whole body behind the bat and only swing for widish deliveries. Australia have ample time to bat, if I was Clarkey I'd be telling Hussey, Haddin and Marsh to take their time and not worry about run rate ATM. Well actually Id tell Haddin to have a dig and be on the attack. But back to my original statement, stand outside the crease and force the bowler to change his line.

Who said Ponting should open you Hoover raping cretin??? You are ripping into Hughers but seem to be forgetting Watsons form with the bat of late. I never said Sunshine shouldn't be in the team just fdown the oder so he can bowl more.
