To a Kiwi I suppose there are merely degrees of distastefulness. Understandably. There is somewhat of a modicum of charm in Aussie nastiness, and the complete absence of long-term holding a grudge, completely missing from South Africans, who have the charm of a dead rat and the charisma of the ensuing feasting maggots,

My annoyance is based on history - Aust didn't support, and in fact ignored NZ cricket (Clarrie Grimmett aside)... As I've said elsewhere, we've always had 2-3 world class players, but needed support (i.e., you playing us) from our nearest neighbour...
