There's players back home who've been in the runs. I'm assuming Franklin's picked as a batsman. There's no way he's in the top 15 New Zealand bats. Bringing Franklin to South Africa is like bringing a push-back to a Formula 1 meet. Might be safe in that you're probably not going to cannon into the safety tyres at the end of the straight, but otherwise dopey intent.

What a shocking decision by a woeful leadership group in batting first. Heads should roll. White did say when he bollocksed Taylor that the coach is responsible for the performance of the team. I wonder if they'll have the nuts to do something. To do something means to bite the bullet, get Buchanan butting out of the test team, and giving Wright the reigns.

Any other country, you'd say 'forget Vettori', given his record over the past 2-3 years is nothing short of pathetic at test level. Averages around 50 with the ball. He's getting close to Franklin territory in terms of meaningful contributions.
