I loved Boucher for quite some time, but I noticed a few years ago that he seemed a little disinterested in batting, he is also getting old. de Villiers is my natural next choice, he is a great keeper and a superb batsman, if he keeps, we free up a spot in the 11 for an extra batsman, or bowler depending on what the conditions call for. We do however tie up a superb fielder and there is the question of whether he wants to keep. There have been a few others staking claims for the keeping spot, I think Heino Kuhn is the favourite, but Morne van Wyk kept most of the world cup and there are other contenders. Thami Tsolekile has been in South Africa A and invitational sides recently and actually has test experience. There is one more prospect worth mentioning in Davy Jacobs who is actually injured at the moment, but he has been touted by some as the next in line, he has been quite impressive in first class for a few years, captains the Warriors
Boucher lost his spot in the ODI squad for a while but when Kirsten and co took over, Boucher was recalled to the ODI side. Boucher also seemed to really want his spot back when he was first dropped and worked on getting his batting back in order. Since he became limited overs captain, de Villiers has said that he is prepared to keep if that's what's in the best interests of the team but it appears he doesn't particularly want to be keeper.
