Careful now, you're not allowed to criticise Ser Brad. He's a legend. A God of sledging.

Sure he can't bat anymore. Or keep. But he embodies what the Aussie cricketer is all about - being an onboxious, crass merkin.

183 runs in his last 11 innings and he is 40. Probably the right call ignoring sentiment, but a shame that this is how it ends for one of the greats.

Still been in better form than Haddin

I would agree in almost every case.... but this is the West Indies

I would have preferred in Australia blooded a new Keeper in this series, preferably Peter Nevill.

Surely there would have to be some pressure on Haddin to actually score some runs with the bat?

Haddin is in good keeping form, but hey don't let facts get in the way of a good story.

More on that, Haddin obviously has credits left over from the last Ashes series. He's been given a lot more rope with the view of getting him to this year's Ashes series. The leadership team obviously like him...Lehmann, Clarke, Smith etc. He provides stability and leadership, and there's been few options up until recently to replace him (with Nevill).

There's also been a serious reluctance on the selectors' part to take a risk with a new keeper who may or may not be ready - call it the Wade Effect. His performances in India just about ended Lyon's career. The last thing we need is to restart that revolving door of spinners because a keeper is costing him wickets..

The next 7 tests are in his hands...He'll get those, provided his keeping stays up to scratch in England. Lets face it....the 2 upcoming tests against WI are pretty much going to be treated as warm ups.. After that, there'll be serious questions on his future.

The difference is that Nevill is a quality keeper.

Scissorhands was always a disaster with the gloves.

The last time we played the Windies over there the great Matt Wade had to save us from embarrassment and scored a fighting ton

No Matt Wade this time = Windies got dis

The world's most selfish batsman has finally been dropped I see. Looks like he'll fall just shrt of Lara's record.

Good to see Ahmed getting some wickets but he did go at almost 4 am over which worries me a bit. Would love to see him and Lyon bowl together, I can't remember the last time we had 2 spinners that looked threatening playing alongside each other.

other than hazlewood , our bowling attack is a worry, especially if we get bizzaro Johnson

Our batting in the trial game was woefull too. WI a good chance not only to compete but win a test imo

oh well bring on the first test
