Why was he replaced by Voges then? His last two test knocks were 50s. And he's much more versatile than Voges.

and Voges is about 35 and will retire soon, silly move imo

Voges had an awesome season for WA (averaged over 60 I think) and has been a great performer in FC for a long time. Burns is a bit unlucky to be dropped but an injury to Clarke opened the door for him. Hope Burns can come back he has some potential.

Excellent 2 test "series" between England and NZ, now more tests. Good to see some long form cricket being played.

Looks like the crap Johnson has turned up. Dead flat pitch as expected though.

Aussies are 1 for 35 in reply, can't believe they named a 35 year old debutant. Honestly what does it prove??? He wasn't good enough a decade ago but he is now???

If he is the best option I would support his selection regardless of age. Rogers has done a job for us in his short time.

Hope he gets a good knock.

Funny looking Australian side. Three batsmen who are/likely to be all time Australian greats in Clarke, Warner and Smith....

And no other batsmen (Rogers I understand is injured and it may be harsh to exclude him on recent form but doesn't he retire after the Ashes?).

A seam attack that is brilliant with Rhino, Starc, Hazlewood, Johnson, Pattinson...

A spinner who is good. but who will never be great.

With the three excellent bats and the excellent seam attack anf a good spinner - the side can win, without doubt.

But that shortage of batting does make the team look very beatable (as long as Smith stops emulating Bradman).

Do not understand the Mitchell Marsh fan club at all. He will be a bigger disappointment for Australian cricket fans than Watson by the time his career is over.

We have an Ashes tour in a month, our batting is horrific aside from Smith/Warner both who have questions in English conditions. Voges has 1500 Shield runs and has a fantastic record in England!
