Yep, ahead of Darsh for one. And what's the point in picking an all rounder when they can barely roll an arm over these days????

Darsh shouldn't be there but I'm just not convinced on Burns, he is solid...but is solid really what we want. I'd be more inclined to gamble on Chris Lynn personally. No complaints on the all rounder, Twatson is fat, slow and useless in the field and bowling party pies and getting SFA with the bat is hardly doing great. Mitch Marsh should be at 6.

I haven't watched any of this test so far, but to those who have, how would you describe the pitch? Have runs really been that difficult to score because of the pitch or because of poor batting/soft dismissals? Has Bishoo bowled well for his 6 wickets?

Haven't seen much of the Test apart from a few highlights on Fox Sports.

Some of the West Indies wickets I saw looked like pretty poor shots. Haven't seen any of the Aussie wickets but hoping to catch more highlights tonight at some stage then some actual live play.

Well done to Voges for a ton on debut.

Anyone who thinks M Marsh should bat at number 6 should be shot, you never ever give a baggy green to someone to bat in the top 6 for Straya who averages 29 in FC,that's f**king disrespectful to past pricks and just plain stupid.

He was swinging like a drunk before that! What is wrong with our batsmen...Voges showed how you bat on that pitch!

The ball was pretty good but it was a terrible shot.

From the backswing and onwards everything was wrong, the bat was on an angle when it came down instead of playing straight, his weight was leaning forward but his feet were still on the crease. I watched in in slo mo and it was terrible, all he needed was front foot down the pitch to smother the spin but feet went no where.

He basically let the ball beat him.

Some of them just aren't terribly good (Marsh, Watson,Haddin). The latter two, read "any more"

Smith was flattered by the roads in Australia the summer gone, a fine young player but he's vulnerable in conditions offering the bowler something, Clarke has always been a shadow of 'himself' outside Australia, and Warner while developing a fine record has some vulnerabilities...

Love your young quicks though! And the old one resting up at home

You want Burns who is awful at playing spin at number 6 in this series....well um that will end well. I rate Burns but he needs to work on a few things. He will be in after Rogers retires anyway

What happened to all your batsmen? You shouldn't have put swampy out for breeding but AB, S Waugh and maybe Boon.

Umm. Smith scored runs outside of Australia before the 14/15 summer. Not quite as prolific as against India, but right now, he deserves all the accolades he is getting.

Not quite sure why Marsh is always in the picture when someone gets injured... Watson at 6, I can deal with (as long as he is bowling), and Haddin has been on the wane.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, our top order batting has been always somewhat fragile, but this has been hidden somewhat by our tail, which is by far and away the best in the world.

JJ is salty that Steve Smith is superior to Kane Williamson like when Smithy scored half centuries in the WC semi and final but Kane choked in both games with scores in the minus

All bow before you're Aussie leader

Perfect that Bad Hands is the one to get out to that Bishoo ball. Gives the perfect reasoning for media pals that "It was unplayable," another free pass for a guy averaging 15 in his last 10 tests

That axe must be getting pretty sharp..

Michael Clarke's average was in the low 30s when he was first picked.

Am I the only one saddened by how far West Indian cricket has fallen over the last 2 decades? I got into cricket at the tail end of their period of dominance, and I remember how much elation followed our victory in 95. It's sad that now victory against them is almost routine.

I met this guy a year and a bit ago who had a bit to do with WI cricket in the earlier part of the 2000's and he said that he isn't stunned that they aren't a superpower anymore he was stunned that they ever were. Out of all the test teams the WI have the worst facilities, finances, development etc. Cricket is expensive to play and many people in the Caribean are poor and can't afford to attend games (World Cup 2007), their players earn nothing and are basically picked from a hat to play. Things like these coupled with the fact that American sports are so popular in the Caribean have contributed to their collapse.

It's quite unfortunate but that's life. I wasn't old enough to see them at their best but I hear all the stories about them. They were magnificent. It will take a complete overhaul of all kinds of things for West Indian cricket to reach the top again.

Sadly the Windies will never again be the dominant force they were from the late 70's to the mid 90's.

Back in the 80's they left bowlers out who would be superstars today, they have only been at their best when they have had strong and respected leaders that have lead them. Worrell, Lloyd and Viv. After Viv retired it was really only the great Ambrose, Walsh and Lara that kept them competitive until the late 90's. Once the two great quicks gave it away they have been on the whole pretty terrible since. It's sad to see the new generation carry on with the same cocky swagger and arrogance but none of the results.
