So we don't have the money to attract RU players across, but we do have the money to attract and train gridiron players whom miss the NFL...
We have the money and We've basically drained all the talent from RU in Aus already.. and with 3 new teams... that's another 100 players...

A reserve grade player in the NFL are more known than an NRL star in Australia buddy. Australia 26m usa 320m the NFL rejects have more people aware of them then our star here do.
We’ve moved on from graduated college players to NFL reserve graders? How old will these players be before they reach the nrl loL

No doubt they’re more well known. But I can’t see a significant portion of NFL fans caring if a failed college player tries his hand in the NRL.

If it had one iota of credibility as an idea I’m sure it wouldn’t be getting ripped apart like it is lol. Of all the areas nrl could invest to increase player depth even you would have to admit college football would have to be the lowest chance of roi.
Maybe pistol Pete should have thought a bit longer Before speaking on this one?
Mate you choose to live in Perth . Maybe you should have thought a bit longer before moving to the other side of the planet?
But " pete" is discussing ideas...
Something you perhaps should have done...

So just before you walk yourself into more stupidity. What is a crowd for a "college player"
I'll wait.

We have the money
Maybe, but that money could certainly be much better invested.

Firstly, no we haven't. We pinch most of the best Australian RU talent, but not all of it.

Secondly, RU exists outside of AUS. The NRL could be poaching RU talent in a lot more countries and a lot more efficiently than they currently are.
and with 3 new teams... that's another 100 players...
Which you could easily gain most of which by just stopping the leakage of players to the SL and RU, and raiding the SL for their best talent.

That's not to say that the NRL necessarily should do that, just to point out that it's not really as big an issue as many are making out.

He was talking about elite union players why we don’t get Davies or offiah
Your point?

Poaching elite Union players from NZ and the PI's would be a significantly more effective way for getting playing talent for the NRL than trying to convert non-drafted American athletes.

There is no reserve grade at NFL level.

Vlandys talked about College players who don't make it to the pros.

These are not high profile athletes.

The NRL hasn't any demonstrated track record in investment in RL juniors, why would they suddenly believe they can take 22 year olds and turn them into RL players?

We don’t have the money to poach elite players from union like we did before union went pro

We're not talking about elite players, we're talking about juniors or guys on the fringe.

But, f**k me you swing like a dunny door, 90% of your posts are about how cashed up RL is. Then to suit your bullshit argument, suddenly we can't afford to recruit a 17 year old North Harbour Union kid.

It's almost like you're a bad faith shit poster

Depends how you're defining 'elite'.

If you mean that the NRL probably isn't going to sign a bunch of active All Blacks any time soon then I agree, but the NRL absolutely has the means to sign pro RU players and top RU prospects, especially if we include 7s, which we should.

Offiah wasn't an international when Widnes signed him, and neither are any of the Australian RU players that the NRL poaches these days.
