20 to 1 - Australian songs

Agreed Natalie Imbruglia, wtf, ditto Skyhooks, i know the song was controversial at the time but still...

It was more the whole album. Back then, I remember hearing a burp during "She'll be Callin'" on my "Slade Alive" album and thinking that'll piss people off. Then I heard Living in the 70's and the burp just wasn't controversial at all.

They hit the wrong song off the Skyhooks album though, Smut was the one that was the real problem. Skyhooks were absolutely massive in their day, they were our Kiss and mostly because they banned their album.

The list needed "Most people I know" by Thorpie and the Aztecs and I would definately have had "Run to Paradise" by the Choirboys on there as well.

I don't agree with everything on it but the fact they mentioned Savage Garden but not Air Supply was a tad strange. Air supply were much bigger and even though they both sang soppy crap, Air Supply were much better too.

Savage Garden suck large, smelly, decrepit Donkey balls.

I thought the list was just fine. It's supposed to represent what was popular, and everyone knows these songs.

Easybeats at No1 was entirely appropriate, and the most credible part of the list. They put Australian pop music on the map.

Don't bother listing your favourite Aussie band's songs, as if you do you are missing the point.

Having said that, there probably was a place for "Unguarded Moment", but it just doesn't get airplay anymore, so younger folks don't know it.

Savage Garden sold millions of albums and were very popular in the US.

They are more "culturally" significant in terms of Australian music than Baby Animals ever will be.

Don't worry Hrundi - Savage Garden were useless but I never really expected Baby Animals to be in that top 20 list ahead of them.

Shame - one of this country's all time great rock bands.

She looks like a bit of a psycho to me...

She's a bit too cliched "rock chick" as well, but hey...

They were a massively under-rated band. f**k they had some great tracks even though they only released two tracks.

I was devastated when Suze married Nuno Bettencourt - aside from the fact that she was no longer available it aklso spelled the end for two great bands. :(

I've heard "more than words" so don't you mean the end of one good band? :D
Who could forget the film clip to "that" extreme song?
The foot tap on the bass drum bit hahahahahah very guns and roses patience esque.

I was cleaning my garage the other day and found the baby animals CD in a box , so I put it straight on.

They were great, the 2nd album was a bit lame from memory....something about lights out????

Yeah lights out at 11 - that was about a friend of hers that died.

The problem with Extreme is that they'll always be remembered for More Than Words and Hole Hearted when in fact no other song they wrote was anything like those two. At their best they were very good - there's an intro to a song on that album that's known as Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee (the song itself is called He-Man Woman Hater) that is amazing.

It was a pretty ordinary show I thought. The first couple of episodes were reasonably entertaining, with live punch ups and that clip of the kangaroo beating the snot out of that big mascot thing. Quality TV, how FTA should be.

Last night though was boring as f**k. About 15 of those songs HAD to be in there realistically. The comments for the most part were complete pants. I really could not give a flying fleabag as to what Layne Beachley has to say about Long Way to the Top. Same goes for all the other ring ins. Garrett was good though, nice work putting someone on there who was an actual musician who has a clue.

Also the show should be cut down to half an hour. Add break after freaking add break, Christ.

The first show was good when they showed that bloke doing that dance ...and then he pulled a hammy.

Did anyone catch the 20 to 01 - One Hit Wonders yesterday?

If so does anyone remember what the top 20 was?
