England don't really have a tail, so they should at least reach a lead of 350.

English seamers should love these conditions when they get the ball back, especially Anderson who wasn't great in the first innings.

100 up for England and the biggest partnership of the innings. I can't really see them finishing with a lead less than 350 and I can't see them losing from here

350 lead up. Broad has been very handy. Prior just posted his half century. I think England should bat for about half an hour after tea and then declare with a lead of 375 - 400. Hard to see anything other than an England victory from here.

Unbelievable! Another one
Cricinfo said:
news that Gambhir has gone to hospital for an X-ray

And Strauss really should declare sometime soon, if this turns out a draw he'll deserve a kick in the nuts. Dhoni bowling for the first time in this innings.

Dhoni left the Poms off the hook big time.

Good innings by Prior and now India have the incredibly difficult task of reaching 458.

The wall gone in the first half hour of the day, Gambhir out there now.
Sachin can play at 12:27 (England time - about half an hour away) or when India are 5 down, whichever happens first.

Yhis is practically England's to lose.

Full house at Lord's sees a resounding England victory. England dominated the match and earnt a thoroughly deserved win :clap::clap:

England win by 196 runs. Anderson gets a 5fer. Broad probably earned a 5fer, robbed of 2 wickets by Bowden and a few other by his fielders. I heard he will be fined 50% of his match fee for dissent...

So England go 1 up in the series. Easily eyeing off number one ranking now. I am hearing Zaheer won't play the second test and that Dhoni is a chance of getting suspended for 2 tests. Gambhir and Tendulkar should be right.

That was easily the best cricketing experience of my life.

Off to Trent Bridge next week!

I am so jealous Timbo.

Aside from the lack of any real contest, I have loved everything about this test. Especially the crowd today. Test cricket is alive and well
People apparently began queuing for tickets at 0300, and by 0900 the queues stretched from Lord's to St. John's Wood tube station
THAT is amazing! Love test cricket

Good win to the poms...

As for us, anything that could go wrong went wrong, hopefully we can bounce back in the next test starting which starts on Friday.

Damn we're good.

Awesome batting line-up. Quality keeper/batsman. World's best spinner. And BY FAR the worlds best pace battery - Anderson and Tremlett would make a World XI along with Steyn atm. And then there's Broad and even Tremlett and Finn who can't get a game.

Oh how things have changed in the space of a decade.
