Ordinary? I think the word you are looking for is "Small". let's not fool ourselves. Anything unger 5 figures (10,000) is a disgraceful turnout. no offence to sharks only since other clubs - my own included have been guilty as well but fewer than 8,000 is pathetic.

I was happy with that figure. I was expecting less. We've just lost 7 games straight. Even season ticket holders aren't showing. In fact apparently a few corporates didn't show despite the fact they had already paid for their boxes. It will be 4500 for the last round against Canberra.

Excellent for Brookie... OKI... so-so, Aussie... well for the Rooters that's above average. I expected more from Saints but let's not descend into that argument again...

For trivia's sake, we need 23k at Brookvale to bring our season average up to 16k. It's possible, Souths didn't bring too many today.

Wouldn't OH&S throw some ridiculous hissy fit about squeezing that many people into Brookie?

Is that 16k without or without the SCG Crowd?

Nice thought though. If We can stay near the top next year, Brookvale will be bursting at the seams!

Can Brookvale accomodate 23,000 these days?

I always thought it maxed out at around 18-19K.

I really think it can. There was plenty of space on the family hill and the Arko stand was just about empty. I was there in 95 for a game against Brisbane. That was the stadium's biggest crowd with the current configuration (25 549). I'm not sure how that would have been more dangerous than the attendance today.

As for our average, it does include the 19k at the SCG. I think it should, too. It was our home game and we'd have gotten the same or more at Brookvale.

I've always said that it wouldn't take too many more consistent performances to leave Brookvale as an inappropriate venue for Manly capacity wise. Anyone who thinks hills are outdated should come to the game on Friday night, there's just nothing like it anywhere on the planet.

Friday night will be bursting, although it would have surely burst if the dogs hadn't fubbed the last game...sigh.
