41k at Telstra may seem ambitious to some, but it's about time Sydney got off their arses and supported semi final football. I'm doing all I can to get a bunch of lads out there.

Maybe next year, when home (ish) finals for weeks 2 & 3 begin.

At the moment Sydney-siders will have 6 finals over the next 4 weeks to attend. Any neutral or less committed fan that desires to go to finals football in Sydney really has no need to attend this particular game.

He or she will have the oppurtunity to go to a better and more important game in the following weekends.

If you want to go to the Broncos match and haven't got Tickets, I'd advise you order them now...The Queue at the Myer Centre Ticketek was nearly at the Treasury Casino...Full of scary overweight Middle Aged QLDer's in Webcke T-Shirts!

Eels v Dogs had the potential for 50k IMO. I'll be filthy if we draw less than 30k on Saturday TBH. My pax this morning had it at 8,680, but I don't think that sounds right given I bought my ticket at 8:59am.

I'll also be making the trek to EAS on Friday I think.

Maybe so but Rugby League supporters if you have the time and money should really go to as many finals games as possible!!! I know last year my team wasn't involved and i went to all Wests Tigers games and the Parramatta V Cowboys game.

if we get 41k against the raiders ill do a lap of telstra in the nude

Have some optimism! You got 31k vs the mighty Saints, although a fair chunk would have been us Dragons fans.

But seriously, as for the predictions of 19k, that would be dead set embarrasing.

 yeah i'm tipping 28k but i wouldn't be surprised if we got up to 35k! Over 40k is out of the question at the moment i think. Anything under 25k is pretty embarrasing

The whole Raiders thing has really dropped off in the last decade. Sigh.

Once we could have seen 10K redneck canberrans coming down the highway to the game easy. Now we'll get 5 thousand raiders fans? Tops?

so in 2006 NRL crowds were down 5.3% or 867/game with a total drop of 156000. AFL crowds were down 1.3% or 445/game with a total drop of 78000.
However, 2005 was a huge jump in NRL numbers and 2006 is the 2nd best year ever and up 6.3% on 2004 (the 3rd best year ever).
Biggest Losers:
Warriors down 33% (4 points penalty and a lot of rain)
Souths down 28% (great idea moving to Telstra)
Cronulla down 25% (no wonder)
Penrith down 23% (see Cronulla)
Easts down 15% ( a declining team)
Parra down 11% (thanks Mr Smith)

The winners

Melbourne up 22%
Newcastle up 18%

23,752 @ Newcastle for the Finals opener.

hmm a bit dissapointing to be honest...i thought they would have gotten a few more. Still pretty good considering the rain lately..Would have turned a few people away.

Would have thought it would have sold out given what they get for normal games and that it was the last time a number of players would play there.

Last year the Broncos got 7,000 more to their regular season game against the Storm than to the semi final against the same side.
