In what way is that funny? Origin - if we must have the meaningless regional thing - on Saturday followed by a genuinely national final for what we are trying to make a genuinely national game on the Sunday.

Only the wilfully blind can't see how origin emphasises our provincialism compared to AFL, A League, NBL national status.

Shame that this match couldn't of been played on a different weekend. With Origin in Brisbane on Wednesday plus the Broncos game on Sunday, a lot of the neutrals who would of turned up to this game if it was an empty weekend in Sth Est Qld.

Just one of many examples of the malign impact the exhibition has on NRL attendances. it's probably already stripped tens of thousands off Rounds 10 and 11 and we will start to recover as usual after round 17 when it has cost the clubs fortunes and degraded the results of games featureing teams with many SOO players.

some people are never happy...

we want more people, more tv ratings, live screenings into melbourne, the best players every week.

Origin gave you 3.2 million people watching rugby league around australia live into the east coast and a sellout at suncorp.

It is an event that no other sport can boast in australia.

Be proud of it and stop hanging sh*t on it.

i hardly think an origin match in brisbane effects an NRL crowd in Melbourne, Canberra, Newcastle, auckland or Cambelltown.

Grow up people.

F**k this sh1ts me!!!

Firstly bad crowd. Secondly any other weekend and there would've been upwards of 30k. Such stupid, stupid scheduling. After the Broncs on sunday (another woeful crowd) there's no game at Lang Park for 3 weeks.

Just a little bit of thought put in and the NRL would've been laughing.

When has an NRL crowd in Brisbane not involving a club based within 100km of Brisbane ever drawn upwards of 30,000? Some people dream too much.

15000 is a good, respectable crowd. Surely nothing better than this was budgeted on by the clubs involved. If so, they are living in a dream land and need some new administration.

If this game was scheduled so it was the only game in Brisbane for 3 weeks there's no doubt it would've got 30,000. It was just bad scheduling, most of my mates didn't even know it was on... It really could've used a couple of weeks of build up.

So, answer the question, when has a game in Brisbane not involving a team representing an areas within 100km of Brisbane ever got 30,000 or more people?

Or, if it is easier, how about listing the crowds for all NQ games (not involving the Broncos, Crushers or Gold Coast) played in Brisbane. And How do these compere with the 15000?

Why don't we cut the 100km barrier and make the question a fairer one: when has a game in brisbane not involving a brisbane-based team ever got 30,000 or more?

Ans: round one 2007.

The scheduling is an absolute joke.

I have no doubt the Cows v Dogs could have got 20-25,000 had it not been squeezed between an origin and Broncos game.
