With the number of teams and the number of games that city therefore needs to host, playing multiple games on the same weekend (each potentially eating into the others crowd) can't be avoided. There's room to argue whether that is the optimal situation we could have in Sydney or not. But the question in Brisbane is why on earth we're playing two and three games on the same weekend when there are still a large number of completely RL free weekends each season (at the top level anyway). It just doesn't make financial sense. It's almost as if we as a game are saying to fans, "Here we'll leave as many spare weekends as possible for you to go and spend your money on an alternative pastime. Try going to the Lions or seeing a movie, you might like find you like it more than our game." Sheesh, talk about giving the opposition a break.t-ba said:
