are you fair dinkum? as unfuny as the whole beaver segments were, they were clearly pre-concieved gags. matty johns in his mind is sacha baron cohen and reg regan is borat. either you've never watched the footy show, or you've not been back from pluto long enough to realize its no longer a planet. the whole unprofessionalism is the shtick that the footy show was built on and continues to be its only source of generating any laughs. after almost two decades on air, do you really think that fatty can't read a cue card? sure he might fumble over a word or two, but most of its just playing up to the audience.

without a question. tv execs in this country have too long held the view only decorated ex-players can offer opinions on sport. most of the ex-players struggle to communicate with any degree of intelligence, wit or candor. in contrast, the majority sport commentators in america, are journalists and is with out doubt the way we should be heading.
